By force or by con, Otion Front has always been outside of the system quo. We began this work to stay affordable with radical care so that the space can support real poetry. Otion Front has never been a profit-producing organization, we aren’t backed by grants or institutional funding, rather we work to create a different economy through energy and labor exchanges. The money built from rehearsals and ticket sales goes to paying its rent. For six years we have worked to provid...e space and programming to strengthen mental and physical confidence in a culture that doesn't always nurture what it means to really be alive. This Mental +& Physical Health Database is a collectively growing co-authored index of mental, physical, spiritual & alternative health practitioners (trained and untrained) as well as people willing to help in times of need. This database is to aid in ongoing support for all in need of mental health help as well as all of those providing care. How this looks is poetic and fluctuating but what is unchanging is that we need each other. Some examples of care practices are: tal...k therapy, craft, yoga, movement, tarot, harm reduction, etc. This index asks for forms of telecommunication as a necessary modality not only to aid support during this pandemic but also to support accessibility at all times. Certification is not necessary but is useful. There are no requirements of traditional methods of healing. The essential tenet is to do no harm. The database grows with your contribution. Along with the database is a donation button to build a mental heath fund for people who need it as well as for those practitioners who are losing work rn. Please consider donating if you can. Very happy to reveal @caroline.schub is our October Artist in residence !!!!!!!! #ofsair Caroline Schub is a multi-media artist [b. 1990] from the Hudson Valley, New York. Her method of image-creation has more in common with the labor of construction work than with the weaving of dreams. Schub’s understanding of her body’s capacity for degeneration forms the double-edged sword that inspires her work. These images are taken from a beautiful book made of Caroline’s work from 2010-2016. @ Otion Front Studio
