The members of the Otter Lake FD would like to offer our condolences to the family and friends of Deerfield FD Past Chief John Collver. Chief Collver was a great man who always supported the mission of the Deerfield Fire Department. Rest In Peace Chief We got it from here!

This morning at approximately 1:40a.m Otter Lake Fire Dept was notified by Oneida County 911 for a mutual aid Request for a Structure fire At 1515 St Rt 28 in the Town of Webb (Old Forge) Fire District. Under the command of Chief Eisenhart Tanker 1 and Engine 1 Responded with full crews to the scene. Upon arrival we were notified Access to the fire on the 1.5 mile driveway was hindered by poor weather conditions and terrain. After Gaining access Fire Suppression was established and firefighters worked diligently through the morning to Control the fire. All agencies returned back in service at approximately 6:30a.m. Agencies at the scene included Old Forge, Otter Lake and Eagle Bay. An Excellent Job by All Companies and Personnel Involved!!

This evening at approximately 6 o’clock the Otter Lake Fire Dept Received an alarm from Oneida County Dispatch for a Motor Vehicle accident on Rt 28. Upon arrival Chief Scott Eisenhart observed a newer model SUV that had left the North bound lane and came to rest along the woods line. The driver was evaluated on scene and received only a minor cut and scrapes. Responding Members set up traffic control on both the North and South bound lanes Controlling Traffic until The Vehicle could be safely removed from the scene. OLFD was assisted at the scene by the NYS Police and Heartland Towing. A Special Thanks to Paramedic Paul Scheidelman for his assistance at the scene!
