A very meaningful service in remembrance of saints who rest from their labors.

Sunday, Nov. 1 is All Saints’ Day, a time to remember those who have died during the past year and to give thanks for their lives. Our Saviour Lutheran Chuch in Utica NY will be holding a special outdoor service at 6pm. Candles will be lit in the windows in remembrance of people who have died. A special candle will be lit in honor of those who have died from Covid-19 in the US and around the world. Call the church office if you would like someone to be honored. The service is open to all. EVERYONE MUST WEAR A MASK AND BE SOCIALLY DISTANT!

This summer, resources were sent to families for at home Vacation Bible School. This includes links to YouTube videos for stories and music. As posted earlier, one of the stories was the parable of the lost sheep. This week, Lila and her family listened to the story of Ruby Bridges. There were actually videos of two books read aloud about Ruby. This is what Jaime had to say: We listened to both books. Lila was very intent. You could see her emotions written all over her face. She cried and was pretty upset to learn about the way Ruby was treated. She told me she thought Ruby was very brave and like Jesus to pray for people who were so mean to her. After we listened to the story, she retold it to Gavyn and we all had a nice discussion about bravery and kindness.

When we begin worshiping in person again, we will continue to stream worship on zoom for those who are more comfortable staying home. To do this well we will need to purchase a camera and some other equipment. Special donations would be helpful for this unbudgeted expense.

We dance when our church family celebrates and we suffer along with them when they face difficulties. Thank you to all who have provided help to the family from Our Saviour that is in need of assistance. Thank you for your gifts of prayers, food, furniture, household items, transportation, and other support! God is with us!
