We are very honored to introduce you to cocktail enthusiast, blogger and educator extraordinaire, Camille Wilson The Cocktail Snob! Swipe for mouthwatering cocktails she crafted (AND photographed) and a bonus recipe you can concoct for your own at-home happy hour! Fun fact: it was her birthday yesterday! Read her story right here Send her some birthday love and sign up for her bi-weekly newsletter to get cocktail recipes and more delivered to your inbox. Head to cockt...ailsnobnyc.com to get on the list and be sure to follow her on all the socials! I consider myself a cocktail enthusiast and blogger, but I'm not a bartender by trade. I work in Higher Education by day and do my content creating on nights and weekends. I started blogging 2 years ago as way of getting back into the habit of writing more consistently. I've always enjoyed cocktails and entertaining at home so it made sense to blog about those things and help people create their own happy hour at home. My favorite cocktail is a daiquiri! I love it because it's refreshing and very easy to make. When most people hear the word "daiquiri", they think of an overly sweet, frozen drink. But a classic daiquiri is actually made up of just 3 simple ingredients: rum, lime, and sugar. That fact always blows people's minds, which makes it that much more exciting for me. One of my favorite recipes I've created to date is the Mango Basil Mimosa. It first starts with making a basil simple syrup. Combine 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water, and 1 cup of basil leaves in a small saucepan on the stove and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and let cool. For the actual cocktail, combine 2 ounces of mango juice and 1 ounce of the basil simple syrup in a glass. Then, top with your favorite sparkling wine (i.e. champagne, prosecco, etc.) and enjoy! The education piece of what I do is what I'm really passionate about. I love teaching people that making tasty cocktails at home doesn't have to be difficult. People are always blown away by the fact that restaurant-quality cocktails don't require tons of ingredients you've never heard of.
