Thank you Ashley! We’re glad you were happy!!
We're hoping we can get some FB Friends to share this. It's not a game or a scam and you won't have 7 years of bad luck if you don't. Some of you may be aware that certain businesses have been allowed to stay open, under the "construction" exemption issued by the Governor. As an example, big national chains like Home Depot and Lowes are allowed to be open and conduct business as usual, while local Buffalo appliance, lighting, outdoor, floorcovering, kitchen and bath stores ...have been ordered to close. Please don't take from this that we have anything specifically against home centers, we don't. The problem is that home centers have been handed a major unfair advantage during this time and can continue to sell all of the above mentioned products, while local Buffalo businesses are forced to remain closed. We wanted to see for ourselves, what was going on so we went in one last night, around 8:30PM (yes after the "construction" work for the day was over) and it was PACKED. Do you see what's happening? Because you couldn't go to Orville's you bought from Lowes. Because you couldn't go to Shanor Electric, you bought from Home Depot. ETC. ETC. ETC. In spite of the fact that we have all been told to significantly limit our exposure to others, I saw a lady walking out of Lowe's last night with PATIO FURNITURE. Maybe she would have bought it at Arthur's Home Store or Recreational Warehouse, but.... you get the idea. All of those purchases feed a corporate giant in a town far away from Buffalo. Had those purchases been made in a local company--100% of the money stays here--in WNY. Here's all we're saying, folks. If you have to buy in a Home Center, go to Valu or your local hardware store. I get it. You're off from work so you're catching up on remodeling projects If you can wait to buy some of the products above, please consider the consequences to your local businesses. If you've made it this far, thanks for listening. There will, as there always is, people whose only concern is to take care of themselves. There's also a large group of people that heed no warning of the possibility that it is they who could be spreading the virus. At least they got their patio furniture. Anyway.... Think. Buy Local, Buffalo. There's a Lot of People Counting On You. Be Safe.
