PNH was full of pre Valentines Day fun today. Staff wore red and our residents enjoyed making Valentines Day cards!

Dr. Valentine and his were in the house today! He had our residents smiling, tapping their feet, and even drumming their drum sticks along with him.

This picture! These days that have turned into months have been beyond difficult for our residents and their families and friends. We are heartbroken that our residents cannot hug their loved ones. We are heartbroken when we have to comfort someone missing their family. We are heartbroken for families who struggle with the visitation restrictions...and we understand. However we are thankful that we have large windows so that you can share a smile and a wave with your lo...ved one. We are thankful that we have phones where your loved ones can hear your voice which brings them comfort. We are thankful for FaceTime, Zoom and Skype where you can have a virtual visit with your loved one. We are thankful for all the little ways that we have to stay connected when we feel so distant. We are beyond thankful that our residents remain safe and healthy. There is so much negativity surrounding the skilled nursing facilities and the pandemic. It seems that we only hear the negative. In spite of everything there is some positive to be found. There are smiles and there is laughter that can be found. There are hugs and there are people holding your loved ones hands. There are people providing comfort and support to your loved ones. There are people having conversations and providing activities for your loved ones. There are people keeping the facility clean and disinfected for your loved ones safety. There are people who despite all the months that we could not allow a hairdresser in, made your loved ones look and feel good about themselves by curling, braiding or putting their hair back. They are the people that care for and love your family as their own...these people..our amazing PNH staff! Thank you to our staff who continue to show up every day despite what is happening in the world...despite the negativity...despite the hardships. Thank you for caring for and loving our residents as if they are your own. Thank you for all you do despite the restrictions and the effects this pandemic has placed on each and every one of us. Thank you to the residents and their families for your understanding and support during these uncertain and ever changing times. It means the world to us! Around here we bend but don’t break! We continue to rise above it all and know that there will be better times ahead. We will continue to follow all the CDC and Dept. of Health guidelines to maintain the safety of our residents.
