$2,500,000 SETTLEMENT FOR INJURED CONSTRUCTION WORKER: Congratulations to partner, Michael Jaffe, for obtaining $2.5M settlement for a 46-year-old Local 79 laborer who slipped and fell on a construction project sustaining neck and shoulder injuries requiring multiple surgeries. The settlement in this case which was venued in Queens County was reached during mediation over several hours. Nice work Michael.

MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH ON FDR: A car exploded in flames in a multi vehicle crash on the southbound FDR Drive on the Upper East Side this morning. Injuries of victims of the accident are unknown at this time.

NY BUS HANGS OFF OVERPASS: Sadly, eight people were injured after a passenger bus veered off the road and was left hanging off an overpass in the Bronx. Seven people had minor injuries while the driver is in critical condition. We wish the victims a full and speedy recovery.

NYC HOSPITALS CANCEL VACCINE APPOINTMENTS: As the demand for the COVID-19 vaccine is higher than the supply New York City is feeling the pressure. At least one hospital was forced to cancel appointments for the vaccinations due to the lack of supply.

MTA REQUESTING MORE NYC COPS: The MTA is asking Mayor Bill de Blasio for more cops to be stationed on subways and buses after a rash of attacks on transit workers and riders.

NY PEDESTRIAN DEATH TOLL RISES: One pedestrian was struck by a motorist every 33 minutes in New York State, with almost 162,000 people killed or injured from 2010 to 2019, AAA Northeast said.

E-SCOOTER CATCHES ON FIRE: An e-scooter that sparked a massive fire in the Bronx left several members of one family critically hurt. FDNY Fire Marshals ruled the fire to be caused by a lithium ion battery from an electric scooter.
