We are thrilled to officially kick off our partnership with @jmclaughlin today - an American original since 1977 with a commitment to craftsmanship and locality and with headquarters right here in Brooklyn! PxP founder Kate will be hosting virtual botanical workshop classes with them this summer and fall and will be popping up in J.McLaughlin stores along the East Coast for floral takeovers that follow the seasonal growing calendar. Check out our IGTV for a class on hand tied bouquets using summer greenmarket flowers and stay tuned for more botanical back pocket skills. You can find details on the J.McLaughlin blog, link in bio.
This week’s farm spotlight is on the Brooklyn Grange - made up of three rooftop soil farms in Brooklyn and Queens. In the ten years since they first brought soil eleven stories up in the Navy Yard, they have become a leading rooftop farming and intensive green roofing business in the US, growing over 80,000 pounds of organically-cultivated produce each year. We love buying their flowers in the summer months - at just a few miles away, they’re our closest grower and our favorite farm you can fall off of.
Pride, noun: confidence and self-respect as expressed by members of a group, typically one that has been socially marginalized, on the basis of their shared identity, culture, and experience... . . 100% of today’s profits will go to the Ali Forney Center, the largest agency dedicated to LGBTQ homeless youth in the country.
Friday morning wild child.
All month long, @thisqueerkitchen and @queermoneyproject will be matching what you spend at Petal by Pedal and other Queer and Black-owned businesses with a donation to @theokraproject -- a collective that provides resources and meals to black trans people worldwide. Just send them a screen shot of your bouquet order with PxP!

And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.
Spread love, it’s the Brooklyn way.
