The PLL will hold a Sandlot Fun Day on Sunday, October 3rd. We invite baseball players 9-12 years old to come to the PLL fields and play ball from 11:00am to 12:30pm. Players will be broken up by age, for self-directed, unstructured play (without coaches but with adult supervision). Players will choose the teams, set the batting order, decide what positions to play in the field, etc. Adults will pitch but not umpire (unless the players request it) otherwise, the players will officiate and settle any disputes that arise. We’re also seeking adult volunteers to be on hand to facilitate and make sure safety guidelines are followed. To prepare, we ask interested players and adult volunteers to RSVP; once we understand how many players plan to attend, we will announce field locations. RSVP at pittsfordlittleleague.org/

Good luck to all of our current and former players who are taking to the field, court or course and competing in a fall sport. The PLL will be well-represented in town and scholastic programs in Pittsford and East Rochester as well as at Mercy, Aquinas and McQuaid. We’re proud of all our players - on the diamond, or otherwise.

Thirty PLL players competed; congratulations to all, including our finalists Cam Barnes, Logan Tomeny, Jackson Forney, Petra Hunt (runner-up) and Aidan Kress (champion). Sincere thanks to all our players, families, coaches, volunteers, and sponsors for a great summer of Pittsford Little League baseball and softball!!!

We are still unsure if we will be able to play youth baseball and softball in our community this summer. As this decision is out of our hands, we have turned our attention to how we would responsibly restart play if given the chance. The plan is our view on what will be required to operate a program in a safe and compliant manner this summer based on NY State business requirements, CDC guidelines for youth sports and baseball and softball best practices. To date, we have no...t seen where New York State has published requirements specific to youth sports; once we have these, our plan will amended. The intent in sharing this now is to set expectations with families on what return to play is likely look like so each family can begin to decide if participation would be right for them. It continues to be out desire to have a season if permitted to do so and if we are confident we can operate safely and comply with requirements. Our proposed plan and FAQ has a been shared with PLL families and is posted on our website @ pittsfordlittleleague.org.

Until we’re able to get back on to the field, we hope every baseball and softball player has seen Little League’s pep talks and taken these messages to heart. Stay safe! https://www.littleleague.org/player-s/coronavirus-update//
