Hand Painted Ornaments Part 2
Hand Painted Ornament Part 1!
Happy Hanukkah! The eight-day Jewish celebration known as Hanukkah or Chanukah commemorates the rededication during the second century B.C. of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. Hanukkah, which means dedication in Hebrew, begins on the 25th of Kislev on the Hebrew calendar and usually falls in November or December. This year, it begins on December 10th. Often called the Festival of Lights, the holiday is celebrated with the lighting of the menorah, traditional foods, games and... gifts. Two Chanukah Hymns From the Precious Medieval Manuscripts dating back to the 11th and 14th century can be explored on the NYPL's website. Read about them here: https://www.nypl.org//gems-dorot-jewish-collection-chanuka . #portjefferson #portjefflibrary #portjeffersonfreelibrary #hanukkah #librariesofinstagram #holidays #2020holidays
