CONCURSO DE FOTOGRAFIA DE TELEMÓVEL Aberto a todos os portugueses e luso-descendentes residentes nos E...UA e de tema livre Por HENRIQUE MANO Jornal LUSO-AMERICANO Editor at large em Newark, NJ www.lusoamericano.com Em parceria com o Camões I.P. - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, o Consulado-Geral de Portugal em Newark, no estado de New Jersey, leva a efeito o 1. Concurso de Fotografia de Telemóvel. De acordo com aquele organismo, a iniciativa - que tem tema livre, pretende estimular a fotografia como forma de expressão quotidiana e artística, promovendo a partilha de experiências e memórias no seio da comunidade portuguesa e luso-americana nos EUA. O concurso está aberto a todos os residentes nos Estados Unidos da América, dirigindo-se especialmente (mas não só) à comunidade portuguesa e luso-americana nos EUA, pode-se ler nos estatutos do mesmo, que adianta ainda: Não haverá qualquer distinção entre fotógrafos ‘amadores’ e fotógrafos ‘profissionais’, nem entre tipologias de telemóveis ou tablets. Cada candidato (cidadão português ou estrangeiro residente nos EUA), pode submeter até um máximo de 3 imagens, a cores e/ou a preto e branco. As fotografias apresentadas a concurso deverão ser originais e pertencer integralmente ao participante (não violando direitos de autor de terceiros) e não poderão ter sido anteriormente submetidas a outro concurso de fotografia. As imagens podem ser enviadas até às 00 horas do dia 31 de Outubro de 2020. Cada participante receberá um e-mail de confirmação da participação no concurso e da receção das imagens. A participação no concurso é gratuita e implica a aceitação integral do presente regulamento. ESPECIFICAÇÕES PARA O ENVIO DAS IMAGENS As imagens devem ser captadas com um dispositivo de comunicação móvel (tablets, smartphones ou telemóveis de qualquer sistema operativo) e apenas podem ser editadas com programas de edição de um dispositivo móvel. As fotografias (máximo de 3) devem ser enviadas, num único e-mail, para o seguinte endereço eletrónico: [email protected] As imagens devem ter os seguintes requisitos: Formato - jpeg; Dimensão mínima - 640 pixeis no lado maior; Tamanho dos ficheiros - maiores do que 100 kb e menores que 7 MB Não são aceites a concurso imagens que façam parte do corpo do e-mail e que incluam assinaturas, marcas de água ou molduras. O ficheiro digital de cada foto deve ser legendado com o primeiro e último nomes, seguido de underscore e número da imagem (exemplo: JoséSilva_01; JoséSilva_02; JoséSilva_03). Poderá ser solicitado a posteriori o envio da fotografia original para comprovar a natureza móvel da captura e edição. As imagens que forem seleccionadas para a exposição deverão ser enviadas posteriormente com pelo menos 1000 pixéis no lado maior. O júri inclui a fotógrafa freelancer Mónica Jorge, com trabalho publicado nos mais importantes órgãos de comunicação social nos EUA, o fotojornalista Henrique Mano, baseado em Nova Iorque, ao serviço do jornal LUSO-AMERICANO (e que fez, entre outras, a cobertura da histórica 50. Assembleia Geral da ONU com o português Diogo Freitas do Amaral como presidente, a visita do então primeiro-ministro António Guterres à Casa Branca e consequente encontro com o presidente Bill Clinton e o lançamento de um vaivém da NASA com a bandeira de Portugal a ir ao espaço assinalando os 500 anos dos Descobrimentos) e José Carlos Adão, adjunto para o Ensino do Português nos EUA - em representação do Consulado Geral de Portugal em Newark e do Camões I.P. O júri verificará a conformidade formal e substantiva dos trabalhos com o presente regulamento, apreciará a qualidade técnica e artística das fotografias e atribuirá os prémios e menções honrosas. As decisões do júri serão finais e delas não haverá apelo. As questões omissas neste regulamento serão resolvidas pelo júri. DIVULGAÇÃO DOS RESULTADOS A divulgação dos resultados será feita no dia 6 de Novembro de 2020, através do site e do Facebook do Consulado-Geral de Portugal em Newark. Os participantes premiados serão informados, na mesma data, por email e/ou contacto telefónico. 8. PRÉMIOS Serão atribuídos os seguintes prémios: - 1 Prémio: Kit fotográfico com máquina fotográfica digital SLR (Single-lens Reflex) + 2 tripés + kit de filtros - 2 prémio: máquina fotográfica digital SLR (Single-lens Reflex) - 3 prémio: máquina fotográfica digital SLR (Single-lens Reflex) O júri atribuirá menções honrosas aos trabalhos que considerar merecedores dessa distinção, ainda que às mesmas não corresponda qualquer prémio. O júri reserva-se o direito de não atribuir prémios ou distinções, caso considere não existirem trabalhos com a qualidade necessária para a sua atribuição. Ao mesmo concorrente só pode ser atribuída uma distinção (prémio ou menção honrosa). EXPOSIÇÃO As fotografias premiadas e seleccionadas (1. a 3. prémios e menções honrosas) farão parte de uma exposição, que terá lugar nas instalações do Consulado-Geral de Portugal em Newark, a realizar nas semanas seguintes à divulgação dos resultados. USO DAS IMAGENS Todos os direitos das imagens pertencem aos participantes, que cederão à entidade organizadora apenas os direitos de utilização não-comercial, no âmbito do concurso e da posterior exposição. Qualquer imagem utilizada pela entidade organizadora será identificada com os respetivos créditos autorais. In English: 1st MOBILE PHONE PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION OF THE GENERAL CONSULATE OF PORTUGAL IN NEWARK (2020) REGULAMENTO 1. ORGANIZATION The event is organized by the Consulate General of Portugal in Newark, with the support of the Portuguese Cooperation and Language Institute Camões I.P. 2. OBJECTIVE AND THEME The competition aims at stimulating photography as a form of daily and artistic expression, promoting the sharing of experiences and memories within the Portuguese and Portuguese-American community in the USA. The theme/subject of the competition is free. 3. RECIPIENTS The competition is open to all residents in the United States of America, addressing especially (but not only) the Portuguese and Portuguese-American community in the USA. There will be no distinction between amateur and professional photographers, nor between types of mobile phones or tablets. 4. PARTICIPATION REQUISITES Each candidate (Portuguese national or foreigner living in the US) can submit up to a maximum of 3 images, in color and / or in black and white. The photographs submitted to the competition must be original and belong entirely to the participant (not violating the copyright of third parties) and must not have been previously submitted to any other photography competition. Images can be sent from September 21st, 2020 until 00:00 of October 31st, 2020. Each participant will receive an e-mail confirming the participation in the competition and the delivery of the images. Participation in the competition is free of charge and implies full acceptance of this regulation. 5. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMAGES Images must be captured with a mobile communication device (tablets, smartphones or mobile phones of any operating system) and can only be edited with editing programs from a mobile device. Photographs (maximum 3) must be sent, in a single email, to the following email address: [email protected] Images must have the following requirements: Format - jpeg; Minimum dimension - 640 pixels on the long side; File size - larger than 100 kb and smaller than 7 MB Images that are part of the body of the email and that include signatures, watermarks or frames are not accepted. The digital file of each photo must be captioned with the first and last names, followed by underscore and image number (example: JoséSilva_01; JoséSilva_02; JoséSilva_03). The original photograph may be requested a posteriori to confirm the mobile nature of the capture and editing. The images that are selected for the exhibition must be sent later with at least 1000 pixels on the long side. 6. JURY The jury has the following composition: - Freelance photographer Mónica Jorge - Photographer of the newspaper Luso-Americano Henrique Mano - Deputy Coordinator for the Portuguese Language Programs in the US José Carlos Adão in representation of the Consulate General of Portugal in Newark and Camões I.P. The jury will check the formal and substantive conformity of the works with this regulation, will appreciate the technical and artistic quality of the photographs and will award the prizes and honorable mentions. The jury's decisions will be final and there will be no appeal. The questions omitted in this regulation will be settled by the jury. 7. PUBLIC DISCLOSURE OF THE RESULTS The results will be announced on November 6, 2020, through the website and Facebook of the Consulate General of Portugal in Newark. The winning participants will be informed, on the same date, by email and / or telephone contact. 8. AWARDS The prizes awarded will be the following: - 1st Prize: Photo kit with a digital SLR (Single-lens Reflex) camera + 2 tripods + filters set - 2nd prize: a digital SLR (Single-lens Reflex) camera - 3rd prize: a digital SLR (Single-lens Reflex) camera The jury will award honorable mentions to the works that will deems worthy of this distinction, even if they do not correspond to any prize. The jury reserves the right not to award prizes or distinctions, if it considers that there are no works with the necessary quality for their attribution. Each competitor can only be awarded with one distinction (prize or honorable mention). 9. EXHIBITION The award-winning and selected photographs (1st to 3rd prizes and honorable mentions) will be part of an exhibition, which will take place at the premises of the Consulate General of Portugal in Newark, to be held in the weeks following the annoucement of the results. 10. USE OF THE IMAGES All the rights of the images belong to the participants, who will give to the organizing entity only the rights of non-commercial use, within the framework of the competition and the ensuing exhibition. Any image used by the organizing entity will be identified with the respective copyright credits.
