Correspondent for The 74, Bekah McNeel, writes "While people used to be skeptical of teletherapy for behavioral and mental health support, that perception is changing with the pandemic." The 74 Million recently interviewed Stephanie Taylor, clinical director of psychoeducational services for Presence Learning, to share her thoughts on the topic. With mental health a growing concern, PresenceLearning is proud to partner with school districts across the country to provide online therapy sessions, and help work through their backlogs, deliver timely assessments, to help provide the services students need to support their mental health and well-being. #MHAM

The 2021 National Teacher of the Year award goes to Juliana Urtubey, an elementary special educator! This is particularly exciting news for special education, as few special educators have won the national honor. Urtubey, a bilingual educator, connects with students in creative ways to amplify their brilliance. She also serves as an instructional strategist, developing supports to meet students’ differing academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. She was a good l...eader, and she would just teach us things in a different way that other people wouldn’t, said one of her former students. Thank you, Juliana, for being a champion for our field and for all students with special needs! #specialeducation #specialneeds #SPEDchat #allstudents #schools
