We had the honor of treating @anastasia_k_p for her wisdom teeth surgery. Anastasia is a Tokyo 2021 Paralympic hopeful just two years after losing her vision completely. Her remarkable success story began when she lost her vision at 14. After months of frustration and learning to live with a life changing disability she was determined to continue swimming. And boy did she do just that! Anastasia went on to win 2 gold medals at the World Para Swimming World Series in Australia... and is now training in hopes to compete in the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games. Anastasia has proved to the world that not only is she an unstoppable Olympic swimmer but also uses her platform to change how the world sees the visually impaired and to educate people on the blind community. This patient was referred to us by their orthodontist for the extraction of first premolars #5, #12 and uprighting of #31. After evaluating the patient Dr. Panagos felt the best course of treatment would be to extract #5, #12, #32(lower right wisdom tooth) and upright #31. He also placed bone graft around #31 for added support to give the tooth the best chance of success.

Sometimes permanent teeth are in a poor position, not allowing them to complete their journey into the proper place in your smile. In these cases, the tooth is found surgically and exposed, a gold button is bonded to the tooth, and a gold chain is connected from the button to the patients’s orthodontic wire.
