Thanks so much to everyone who came out to the Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps' Blood Drive today! It was a VERY successful day - we collected almost as much as we did at our last drive, which was way above the goal the NY Blood Center set for us, and doubly noteworthy as we know that many people are concerned about infectious diseases these days (or so we've seen on the news) and the Blood Center reports that some potential donors are staying away from blood donation... events due to those concerns. This is causing our available blood supply to get dangerously low. You'll all be happy to know that your neighbors from Putnam Valley and the surrounding area still came out in strong numbers to help fill the need for blood! Noting that each individual donation may end up going to three different people (or more), we've potentially helped to save hundreds of lives today! Thank you! We'll be back in touch, once again, in a few months. Now stay safe, don't drink and drive, and wash your hands...

Our Blood Drive signs took a real beating in last night’s wind - we had to fix and put about half of them back up this morning and didn’t get to all that are out there yet. So if one blows by you as you go about your business today - tie it to a tree And don’t forget to come out on March 10th, 2:30 - 8:30 pm at the Ambulance HQ on Oscawana Lake Rd. to donate. A very generous community helped raise the bar for us at our last drive - breaking our record! So now we want to do even better! All we need is you!
