The Officers and Members of Fire Medic Company No. 1 deeply regret to announce the passing of Ex-Captain, Ex-President, and current FMCO Board member Philip Spinnato. Phil was elected into membership on December 6, 1982, becoming an EMT in 1983 and a few years later an EMT-CC. As an officer Phil served as President from 1991 to 1993 and Captain from 1988-1989 and again from 2006-2007. Since 2008, Phil has served with distinction as a member of the FMCO Board. In addition to b...eing a multi-year High Points Award winner, in 1990 Phil had the honor of being awarded Fire Medic of the Year. Phil never allowed his battles with cancer or Parkinson's disease to interfere with his devotion to the organization he loved so much, and even as his body failed him he continued to serve, training members new and old, participating on nearly every committee, and sharing his wisdom just when we needed it most. He led by example and demonstrated every day the meaning and virtue of selfless service. Phil's lasting legacy will be the impact he has had upon generations of FMCO members, he was loved by all, and he will surely be missed. Godspeed Captain Spinnato.

Hey, Port Washington! In an effort to become more environmentally friendly, we have turned our fleet of Emergency Ambulance Service Vehicles (EASV’s) GREEN! We have added solar panels to charge the batteries of these vehicles which will ensure they are charged off the sun rather than the gasoline alternator. This includes the batteries for the engine, radios, and emergency lights/sirens!... #PORTSTRONG #supPORT #FMCo #EMS #PWFD #inthistogether #fightagainstcovid #frontlineheroes #GoGreen
