Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is the manufacturing process whereby a desired shape is obtained using electrical discharges. Our recently acquired Sodick VZ500LH wire-EDM uses electrically charged brass wire to precisely cut shapes of all kinds. Submerged in water, the CNC controlled machine cuts an internal spline in this 9.63 long sleeve, maintaining a 0.00015 tolerance, which is half the size of an average human hair.
