Perfect racing weather! Come get some! Sign up closes at 6:15, racing at 6:30. In addition to our normal electric classes, we ARE RUNNING NITRO tonight! A couple general program notes - 30 day WAKE UP CALL !... **** The Intergalactic race is SUNDAY, July 25! **** We will have a full assortment of Electric classes as well as the Nitro CASH class. You do not have to win to get the cash, JUST enter Nitro and you will be in the drawing for the grand prize! Other info.... Please try to pick up your pit area before you leave, we had some littering issues last week. Maybe the wind was the culprit, please help us out. Also, CRC club nights are "dry" events. While we do water the track, we do not allow alcohol in the pits. We found a few beer cans picking up last week.

RACE DAY!! Perfect weather! Come on out and enjoy a night on the off-road track.

The 17th Annual Rumble in Rome is now in the history books. A huge thank you to all the racers for your support and attendance. For 2021, we were blessed with great weather and some excellent racing.. We had almost 200 entries with racers from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Ohio, Pennsylvania and of course New York. This is a strong turnout considering we have a ROAR National on the east coast in 10 days and the Canadian border is still closed.... We deeply missed our Canadian friends who, for many years, made up a huge portion of the entries at the Rumble. We hope to see you in 2022. Despite 90 degree temps, strong winds and a relentless bright sun, the track held together awesomely with good grip and practically ZERO DUST. Our steady watering schedule kept the track consistent and predictable. A nice high traction black groove formed on the famous CRC low tire wear dirt. We ran 3 rounds of qualifying and by 6:30 pm Saturday, racers were able to relax by their campsites and go to dinner on a Saturday night. For the finals, we ran full length mains for all the racers, not just long mains for the hot-dog A-mainers, but longer mains for all the racers including those in the lower mains. Everyone enjoyed a good amount of track time. Even with full-length mains including a 25 minute Plus 40, a 30 minute Nitro Truggy and a 45 minute Nitro buggy, we were wrapped up and finished by 2:30 on Sunday. Credit goes to you racers for getting to your corner positions quickly and also being ready for your qualifiers and finals. And a big credit goes to our announcer and race program director, the Flyin’ Fossil, Frank Calandra Sr. Congratulations to all the racers, we hope everyone left the Rumble in Rome with some good memories and great stories to tell in the future. Race day AND race week! Road racing tonight, oval on Saturday! As we hear of more and more concern over rising corona numbers, please let's continue to lead the way with the great job we have been doing with mask wearing. Please continue to keep your NOSE and mouth covered, please wash your hands and feel free to use the sanitizer we have placed throughout the building. And lastly, we love you all, but if you are sick and do not feel well, or you have been exposed to people who are sick, please stay home. We will miss you but we need to be cautious. Practice tonight until 8pm! The weather is not very nice today. So it is a great night to get some practice in. Nate tweaked the layout, so expect some changes.

Saturday night we had an awesome race, the first Annual and hopefully ONLY - US Indoor Chumps. This race held on what would normally be qualifying day at the long time event in Cleveland, Ohio. This was the first time in 41 years that there was no race in Cleveland (thanks COVID). Around 50 entries, long mains and good racing. Great to see all the smiles in the pits and on the track. Here at CRC Raceway, we have a lot of racers that typically attend the US Indoor Champs in Cleveland on Thanksgiving weekend. In fact, our long-haulers, Mark and Frank have attended the race every year since 1986, have not missed in 33 years. With the announcement that the Thanksgiving tradition is cancelled this year we thought we would tweak the schedule and ADD racing a club race the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Depending on the current state of "lockdown", we hope to d...o some a couple fun things that Wednesday, so put it on your schedule to attend the CRC "Thanksgiving Eve" race. Also, we added a Saturday road race on the weekend of the cancelled US Indoor Champs. Un-officially called the US Indoor Chumps. Saturday road racing on Thanksgiving weekend. The 2021 Indoor Offroad schedule will be posted around the Holiday

Race night tonight! Last week, over 60 entries. Lets see if we can top that tonight. Don't forget, if you have some non-perishables to donate to the Rome Rescue Mission, we are donating turkeys and non-perishable food to the Rescue Mission. Road racing today at 4!

Thanksgiving weekend - normally reserved for a trip to Cleveland, but 2020 is very different, so no US Indoor Champs this weekend in Ohio. Cleveland tradition.... Mark and Frank have the longest streak going here in central NY, every year since 1986. Almost 35 years of Thanksgiving weekend in Cleveland. Close your eyes and picture that? 35 years... Picture Mark Calandra....that beat up old man you know now, Mark Calandra..... he was just 11 at his first US Indoor Champs. H...e hasn't missed that race in all those years. Check out the photos from the 1986 US Indoor Champs, that little shit at the left end of the drivers stand... yeah, that is Rambo. The other is the picture of Mark and Frank in the hotel room pits at the Holiday Inn in west Cleveland. This would have been the 41st year of the US Indoor Champs, but like everything else in 2020, cancelled due to Corona. So instead, we have a unique race on our hands tomorrow (Saturday). This could be the ONE and ONLY - US Indoor Chumps! Will Cleveland get cancelled again? Unlikely, it took 41 years to break the string. So this gives you all a chance to be the ONLY winner of the highly prestigious U.S. Indoor Chumps! Join us tomorrow for some fun; Brian, Joe and Nate have been up to no good, planning long main events. So bring your comfortable shoes, you may be on the stand a little longer than normal! Hi gang, A few years ago, Nancy put together a holiday donation campaign where we delivered hundreds of turkeys to a local food pantry to help those that are struggling with the times. Well, here we are in the famous year of 2020 and we are at it again. CRC Raceway is joining forces with a number of local business to donate turkeys to the Rome Rescue Mission. We just bumped up our donation to 20 birds to push the grand total to 300!... On the side, here at our location on Martin Street, CRC is accepting donations for "all the side dishes" that make up a great Thanksgiving dinner. If you can spare some non-perishable goods that can complete a Thanksgiving dinner, we have a drop-box at the track and will be accepting donations. If you can help, it will be appreciated. Wednesday night WILD! Yes folks, we are racing tomorrow night. Thursday is Turkey day, no racing on Thanksgiving. Don't forget.... many of us are normally at the US Indoor Champs in Cleveland, OH over Thanksgiving weekend. This has been a tradition that goes back 35 years for some. Seeing how we are stuck home, we might as well have some fun. So this year, we will host the US Indoor Chumps here at the track on Saturday. A fun, low-dough show to usher in the Holiday season. The abbreviated 5th Annual Northeast World GT-R Championships is in the books. With the border closed and NY State travel restrictions, the race was transformed into a weekend club race with excellent competition and family fun. Great racing and an excellent turnout, thanks to all that joined us!

Road race tomorrow, Saturday 10-17-2020! Doors at 11, racing at 3pm. This should be our 5th Annual GTR Championship. In years past, we had a great turnout that included our friends from Canada, as well as some out of state travelers from Ohio and PA. Unfortunately, in 2020, the COVID year, the many travel restrictions into New York State and the borders being closed have really beat up our chance to have a big crowd for this 5th Annual event. So instead of a all day trophy... race, we will have fun club race. Doors at 11, racing at 3. We have "tweaked" the track slightly to make it a little more flowing. Come get some! Last night, we had another awesome Thursday night turnout with near 60 entries again. Great runs from a number of drivers last night with birthday boy Dan Dougherty taking the T.Q. and WIN in the biggest class at CRC Raceway, World GT-R. Awesome racing!
