As a result of this pandemic and decreased human activity, we have seen a beautiful return of wildlife and a visible decrease of pollution in the air and water. Images of newly clear skies and clean waterways serve as a striking reminder of just how much damage we cause on this planet. Although this has caused many to point to humans as a "virus" in their own right (and perhaps we are), at Radish we are left feeling even more motivated to continue taking actions that he...lp protect the Earth. While we’re all being forced to reckon with so much that is outside of our control, it’s important to remember that we still have the ability to make choices in our own lives (no matter how big or how small) that reflect the love and respect we have for our planet. Every year in the US, more than 492,000 people are killed by tobacco-caused disease. Worldwide each year tobacco kills millions of people and costs society trillions of dollars. We partnered with the American Cancer Society to produce both a print and digital version of their 6th edition of the Tobacco Atlas. The Tobacco Atlas brings readers and users an exciting and comprehensive guide to key tobacco control issues. It weaves together two related narratives: th...e bleak reality of the damage that tobacco causes even before it sprouts from the ground, and an optimistic examination of the evidence-based tools that we’re using to address this reality, which could be further enhanced through more effective implementation. Since its launch last year, we've added two additional languages to the siteSpanish and Arabic.
