The birthdays continue! If you happen to see Maureen this weekend, her birthday is Friday May 28th!

Baby teeth are incredibly important. They help with speech development, and save the spot for permanent teeth to come through.

Flossing does more than clean the surfaces of your teeth. It cleans those important areas between each tooth and removes bacteria from under the gums. Yet, it’s incredibly common for your dentist to see patients every day who skip this crucial part of oral hygiene. In fact, more than 30% of Americans don’t floss their teeth every day, and this can mean bad news for your teeth.

The enamel on your teeth is the hardest substance in your entire body. It’s even stronger than your bones!

Next birthday in the office. Today, May 19th is Krystal’s birthday! If you see her, make sure you wish her a happy birthday!

This is a long post, so please bear with us. So, March 18 seems like a lifetime ago. I am sure we all have done lots of jigsaw puzzles, binge watched NetFlix(Tiger King, oh my, I could not stop watching that train wreck), enjoyed time with our familes and wondered when this uncertainty would end. We are emerging from it slowly, and in phases as most of you know. Phase 2 has opened up more industries, and dental is one of them. We are very happy to say that we will be seei...ng patients for elective procedures, such as cleanings and dental restorations, starting tomorrow, Monday June 1st. We do now have several changes, the most important being if you are feeling sick, please DO NOT come to the office. When you get to the office, please call 585-473-1550, ext. 1 and let the front desk know you are here, as the waiting room is not to be used unless you have to wait for a ride or need to use the rest room. We will call you back and let you know when we are ready for you. Please come to the left side of the building and enter in the side door. We are having one way in and one way out. Masks must be worn into the office . We will have hand sanitizer for you to use. We will be taking everyone's temperature with a noncontact thermometer as you enter our office. A staff member will then take you directly to your operatory for treatment. The staff will be outfitted in lots more personal protective equipment(PPE) so no transmission of Covid-19 will take place. We ask that you limit the number of family members with you to a minimum. If you have any of the following conditions, we ask you to reschedule your appointment: Fever Shortness of breath Sudden onset of new cough Contact with someone who has been diagnosed with Covid -19 Travel in the last 30 days Chills Shaking with chills Muscle ache Head ache Sore Throat Loss of sense of taste or smell. If you are negative to all of those, we welcome you into our office. We have 11 weeks of patients to get in, so if you cannot make your appointment, PLEASE PLEASE let us know as soon as possible, even if your appointment is 2 hours away. We have a long wait list. After your appointment, we have to let the operatory remain empty for a period of time, so that is now going to take up more time that usually was reserved for patient treatment. We will also have some new faces in the office, so say hello if you see someone you do not recognize. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to to contact our office at 585-473-1550, ext. 1 gets you to the front desk, ext. 8 gets you to Dr. Raetz's personal extension, but he is never at his desk during the day. You can also email us at the front desk at [email protected] or Dr. Raetz at [email protected]. Thank you so much for your understanding and for putting your trust in our office.

Even though the office is mandated to be closed for now, we are still seeing emergencies! Please do not clog up the emergency rooms of the hospitals!

Randy G. Raetz, DDS, PLLC 19.11.2020

So the office is now closed by NY State Mandate through Sunday April 19th. We will and can however see whatever emergencies crop up. Please ignore for now the automated reminders you have been receiving from the office. We will be in the office on Friday, March 27th to begin rescheduling you who have been affected by this. Stay healthy. Practice social distancing, wash your hands and don’t touch your face. Except when you are flossing. And now that you all have extra time, get in there and floss!

So you might want to make sure you have some Tylenol around the house. Don’t hoard it! https://www.bmj.com/content/368/bmj.m1086

OK, big change today. We finally received word that they want dental offices to close for two weeks. We will be seeing only emergencies for now until Saturday March 28th, unless conditions improve or degrade with the pandemic. Trying to further flatten the curve. So if you need something, please reach out to us! Wash your hands and enjoy the time with your family.

Hello patients! Big changes for us all over the last several days. At the current time, we are still seeing patients. With the advent of social distancing and to try and "flatten the curve", PLEASE do not bring your entire families with you to your appointment. If you have children out of school and you cannot find child care for them, please call and reschedule your appointment with us. Also, if you would like to wait in your car until your appointment time, we can come... out and get you, or call you on your cell phone when we are ready for you. If you fall into one of these categories, it is best to reschedule your appointment and see how you feel as time passes: If you have a fever, new onset of a cough, shortness of breath, contact with a person known to have Covid-19, or have traveled internationally within the last 30 days. There absolutely will be no charges for rescheduled appointments. Best to follow the CDC website to see how to keep you and your loved ones healthy and safe: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html Here is a nice link about flattening the curve: https://medium.com//social-distancing-this-is-not-a-snow-d
