My 6 yr-old is on a mission to 'get muscles'. He asked my mom if he could have her hand weights, and of course she gave them to him. Last night before we went to bed he asked me if we could get up early and work out before school [swoon]. He's a tough one to wake up in the morning (literally just sleeps through everything...) but this morning when i asked if he wanted to get up early to work out, he was all for it. He tossed Bunny Squish down the stairs and we worked out for... 20 min. I listen to all different kids of music when I practice. Mostly because when i practice, I'm there to get out of my head. I've heard people say that they didn't like yoga because it's too slow and boring. I like to experience the stillness in body with quick moving sounds ....no words...and it's just enough to get me focused on me, my breath, my practice. Music is a must for my practice. I love me some airpods and either a playlist i've made on itunes, or YT. This last playlist is an upbeat mix with some soft house and trap, electronic...it's definitely going to get you moving. This one's on YT, link in bio.
The first three chakras keep us in the lower chakras which keep us bound by the laws of fate. In the fourth chakra, one makes decisions based on the heart, not the unfulfilled emotions of the lower chakras. The heart chakra is considered to be the seat of the individual soul, and ancient texts describe it as a tiny flame inside the heart. It is the spiritual essence in all. When the heart chakra has not had the opportunity to clear and process emotions, we feel it on a soul level. In one of my earlier posts...I mentioned how much I used to hate this pose. Well....it's because in the beginning I didn't know how to use blankets and there weren't any at the studio i was taking classes at. Who knew it would be as simple as a prop...and suddenly I don't hate it. Here's the into to my latest upload... I give you the benefits, the risks, and 2 modifications for getting into the pose.
