So today at approximately 12:30 I heard bursts of honking coming from out front on my house. I thought there had been some sort of accident so ran to my driveway as fast I could. I was so stunned to see a line of cars spanning from my house back and around my neighborhood loop. Today would have been our recital weekend. What these parents and kids did to my amazement, was a recital parade in my honor. I watched as little girls came out in what would have been their reci...tals costumes and set flowers on my lawn. Dancers previously graduated, mothers, fathers,and even dogs adorned my studio colors and apparel proudly. A parent even went as far as to paint and decorate a trailer with a banner like a float. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine such an act of support and kindness. My business like many others is at best suffering and taking a major hit. My mind has gone to survival business mode as I have been scrambling to try and find solutions for what seems like an endless list. My profession isn’t and most often doesn’t make a lot of money. You do it because you love it. I got to have my dreams big and full blown for years but nothing, and I mean nothing in these 7 years time from costumes, to space, to floors, to shows could ever and I mean ever amount to what was given to me today. There aren’t words or enough thank you’s I could give to all the love and support I have received from so many people not just today but throughout this entire event.
