Reel Adventure Charters 11.07.2021

We kicked off our 2021 season today with long time clients Tom (T-1), Tom (T-2) and Mike. Started out chasing Browns and slid out to see if we could find some Lake trout late morning. It was a tough fishing day to say the least but we managed to end with a relativity heavy box including two trophy size Lake Ontario Trout. Toms big brown, a shade under 13 lbs put up a spectacular fight on my light rods and Mikes big Laker of the day at 19 3/4 lbs helped to make the day a success. Thanks for another enjoyable day on the Lake guys.

Headed north despite the cold and snowy weather forecast to get the boat in the water and docked for our upcoming fishing season. Spent friday in windy and cold... weather doing just that. Drove out to my boat mechanics and long time friend Hank Searles (L&M marine in Port Bay) shop for about 9:00 am to hook up and tow her back to Mexico. Thanks to my partner in crime William Guthrie we were able to get her docked, rigged and ready to fish before the sun went down. Saturday morning Bill and I were ready to hit the lake and beat up on those big Lake Ontario Browns. After some searching we found an area that was holding fish and hit them pretty good and some quality fish to sweeten up the cold windy morning. The fishing will only get better so if you want to get in on some trophy early season Brown fishing give us a call. See more

With the warm weather finally arriving the shallow water of Lake Ontario will start to warm, This will bring in fish looking to feed after a long cold winter. Reel Adventure Charters will start our season the first weekend in April to get our fishermen in on this hot, shallow water fishing on light tackle. Our primary target will be trophy Brown Trout but it's not unusual to find Lake Trout, Steelhead and even mature King Salmon mixed in looking for warmer water and food. If an early start to your 2021 fishing interests you give us a call (413 731-0650 ) text (413 519-3019) or email [email protected] to set up a date or to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for your interest in fishing with us Capt. Glen Gervais

I received the perfect gift from the weather gods this weekend. A day and 1/2 on the lake chasing Brown Trout with my friend Jason out of his trailered 20 fter. Normally this time of year the launch is blocked by snowbanks and the wind has small craft advisory's issued, Friday we fished the afternoon until dark and took 4 or 5 bites. Saturday we got an early start and dialed them in pretty good. Highlight of the day was 6 rods going at the same time and 5 Browns making it into the boat. We fished until about noon boating somewhere around 15 Browns and called it a day when the wind started picking up. The cover I bought for the camper last year worked out well and by opening one panel it gave me access to the doors and cleared the furnace exhaust vent. This weekend was a rare gift for Dec. 11th and 12th.

Headed up into the mountains with a friend of mine to do a little trout fishing. The fishing was good the company was good and we did a lot of laughing in between fighting fish. Decent size Rainbows and plenty of them. The fish were healthy, fighting good and quite a few jumps throughout the morning. A lot of fun on the ultra light gear. Heres a couple of pictures of my buddy 2n's (Glenn with an extra n) and the 6 we kept for the frying pan. A nice morning on the pond.

I took my first trip of the fall season up into the mountains looking for local trout. My buddy William Guthrie and I hit a lot of rainbows but I was disappoint...ed in the size. In between catching trout we took about a half dozen perch, a gigantic bluegill and a couple pickerel with one over 4 lbs all on my trout stuff. Beautiful weather, good company and fast action made for a great morning. I have to find some bigger fish, hopefully next weekend on a different pond. We put three of the biggest bows of the morning in the livewell but decided to release them before we left the pond. See more
