Claudia Schmuckli, Curator of Contemporary Art, states "It gestures to the fact that bees literally have to be on our minds if we care about the health of our planet and our place in it, and any kind of life."

Finally we are starting to see other ways of measuring our societies than pork bellies and housing starts. I’ve always though Bhutan had it right by measuring Gross National Happiness. . the goal of getting into the doughnut should replace governments’ and economists’ pursuit of never-ending GDP growth. Not only is the primacy of GDP overinflated when we now have many other data sets to measure economic and social well-being, she says, but also, endless growth powered by natural resources and fossil fuels will inevitably push the earth beyond its limits.
