Rhinebeck FD is proud to be participating in the Memorial Day parade again this year to show our respect for the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom. We look forward to seeing everyone along the parade route! Lineup is at the fairgrounds on Mulberry Street, and the parade will step off at 10:30am and proceed down Mulberry, right on East Market, left on Route 9, and continue to the Rhinebeck Cemetery. American Legion Post #429 will be conducting ceremonies at several points along the parade route.

Tonight at 20:31 hours, Rhinebeck units were dispatched to the area of Violet Hill Road and Feller Road for a report of an auto accident with entrapment. First arriving units encountered an SUV that had struck a telephone pole and rolled on its side, pinning the driver's arm under the vehicle. The vehicle was quickly stabilized and lifted using air bags to free the driver's arm. The patient was subsequently extricated from the vehicle and transported by Rhinecliff EMS and Mob...ile Life Support to a landing zone at the DC Fairgrounds, where the patient was then transported via helicopter to Albany Medical Center. The crash is being investigated by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Other agencies involved included Rhinecliff FD/EMS, Hillside FD, Mobile Life Support, Lifenet of NY, DCSO, and Central Hudson. Rhinebeck FD units were clear of the scene by 22:30 hours. See more

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to a long time member of the NDP family. Phil Thompson passed away peacefully at home yesterday surrounded by family, friends,... and colleagues from NDP. We are deeply saddened by his passing but he has left a long-enduring legacy in Emergency Medical Services. On August 3, 1998, Phil Thompson walked into our Station 2 in Millerton, NY and asked if he could become part of the NDP family, for the last 22 years Phil faithfully fulfilled his duties caring for the sick and injured. He did this with great skill, compassion and dedication. We join his family in mourning his loss at the same time celebrating a life well-lived. Goodbye friend, we love you!
