I am beyond upset!!! I run a rescue and had adopted Willow an Umbrella Cockatoo to a couple that would leave Willow with Rensselaer Bird Center when they would ...go on vacation. Willow was under contract to be returned to me in the event that the couple could no longer care for her. While on vacation, the couple had communicated with the owners and told them that one of them had developed an allergy to the dander from Willow. I was informed on one of my text messages to the couple that they had allowed Rensselaer Bird Center to adopt Willow out to one of their good friends. I reminded them of our contract, to which they had no recollection, I then sent a copy of said contract to remind them. They refused to call RBC to get Willow returned to me. I then went with said contract to speak with the owners of RBC regarding Willow and the contract to explain that ownership of Willow reverts back to me as per the contract. Now I understand that RBC owners may not have know at the time they gave Willow to whomever they gave her to, but upon finding out, They should have contacted the person she was transferred to. Instead what I got was they claimed they had no idea who had her, claimed they don't keep records of where the birds go to.(What kind of animal rescue does not keep records?) Which totally contradicts the text I had received from the couple whom I had adopted Willow to. RBC Owners tried to claim they did not know the person I had adopted her too, but within a few minutes of me getting there, he showed up, still insisting that he had Willows best interest at heart because she could get more attention than he and his partner could give her, and she is doing well,(however had also claimed to me that they did not know who RBC had adopted her to) he then told Lisa, "show her a picture of her now so she can see" Which at that point, Lisa glared at him and waved her hand that was on her lap as if to keep him quiet. Which I believe Lisa thought that had gone unnoticed, but it did not!!! Lisa and Tina are clearly being untruthful and know perfectly well where Willow is and for them to blatantly lie and withhold Willow from me is reprehensible!! There is no way they do not know where she is. And if anyone reading this may know where Willow is, I just want her back as the only reason I even adopted her to the couple was because they were friends that lived nearby and I could keep tabs on her. I would have never had adopted her to them had I known they would break our contract. I have included a screenshot of the conversation with the couple whom I had adopted Willow to which clearly states that the person whom took Willow was a good friend of the owners of RBC. I also included a couple of the texts during her stay with the couple that has pictures of her as I kept in contact with them regarding her as I am very fond of Willow. See more
