Having sole custody doesn't necessarily mean that you get to relocate without the court's permission. If the other parent has any visitation rights, relocation jeopardizes his/her rights; therefore, relocation is an issue that has to be addressed by the court.

Reminder: Every employer in New York State is required to provide employees with ANNUAL sexual harassment prevention training. An employer that does not use the model training developed by the Department of Labor and Division of Human Rights must ensure that the training that they use meets or exceeds the following minimum standards. Model training materials are available to employers to download. Link to NYS Dept. of Labor training website:https://www.ny.gov/combating-sexua...l-harassment-wo/employers The training must: be interactive include an explanation of sexual harassment consistent with guidance issued by the Department of Labor in consultation with the Division of Human Rights include examples of conduct that would constitute unlawful sexual harassment include information concerning the federal and state statutory provisions concerning sexual harassment and remedies available to victims of sexual harassment include information concerning employees’ rights of redress and all available forums for adjudicating complaints include information addressing conduct by supervisors and any additional responsibilities for such supervisors Each employee must receive training on an annual basis. This is interpreted as a calendar year. Therefore, if someone has not received training in 2020, you have until the end of the year to do it. New employees are to be trained within 90 days of hire. I believe most employers conducted training last year by mid-October. Those who have received training elsewhere can provide a certificate of completion to satisfy their training requirement.

So, we have a question. In the current state of affairs, we are using technology to conduct virtual meetings with the courts and clients and even conducting remote will signing ceremonies using things like FaceTime, Zoom and Skype. Now the "experts" are telling us that clients will not want to return to face-to-face meetings with attorneys in the future and that we should get used to practicing this way. What are your thoughts?

The New York State court system officially announced today that beginning Monday, April 13 its virtual courts will begin handling more than just essential and emergency matters. Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence K. Marks said the judges should review their caseloads to see which court conferences can be helpful in advancing a case, including achieving a resolution. Judges can also schedule conferences at the request of attorneys, and can be available during normal court hours to address discovery disputes and other ad hoc concerns. Judges are also being asked to decide fully submitted motions. The conferences must be done remotely by Skype or telephone.
