Holly Pullis, of Hollywood Enterprises, and some of her feathered friends, will also be on hand to "Talk Turkey" and get you thinking about Thanksgiving. Come tour the gardens while relaxing and enjoying the scenic views from the farm's vast lawns. Don't forget your coolers to stock up on seasonal produce, eggs, chicken, bison, turkey, beef and more! GET TO KNOW YOU FARMER...Exeter Park Produce and Garlic Cindy and Dave Ball have been farming on South Road in West Winfield, near West Exeter, since 1983. While the farm was previously a horse breeding operation, they have focused on produce and garlic for the past 10 years and now grow garlic, herbs and a wide variety of garden produce, using organic practices. A flock of laying hens also calls Exeter Park home. The annual growing season starts each Fall when Cindy and Da...ve plant the following year's garlic crop. The 2020 garlic harvest included more than 7,000 bulbs of German White garlic. Spring is a busy time at Exeter Park while several varieties of lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, squashes, cucumbers, carrots, beets, onions, beans, potatoes and other produce are planted. Several crops are succession planted so that they can be available to customers for extended periods of time throughout the summer and fall. Summer finds everyone hustling and bustling around the farm, as they harvest the crops at peak freshness for their more than 30 CSA members and customers at 7 farmers markets each week. Cindy is also an avid baker, including bread in each of their CSA baskets and offering these breads, as well as cookies, muffins and pies at farmers markets. CSA baskets and farmers market display include farm fresh brown eggs from the more than 100 laying hens as well. In addition to all of the vegetables, eggs and baked goods from the farm, Exeter Park sells bison meat from their neighbor's herd. Exeter Park Produce and Garlic can be found under that white tents on the east end of the vendor line up at every Richfield Springs Farmers Market. While Cindy may not always be in attendance, as she is often working other farmers markets on Thursdays and Saturdays, you can trust that her friends, Marge Shultz and Holly Pullis, will be happy to help you experience what Exeter Park Produce and Garlic has to offer. Better yet, make plans to visit the "Garlic Festival at the Farm" this weekend to experience ALL that they have to offer! See more

GET TO KNOW YOUR FARMER...Hollywood Enterprises and Roedale Farm Our FEATURED FARM this week is actually 2 businesses at 1 farm. The Pullis family has operated ROEDALE FARM on McShane Rd in the town of Springfield since 1972. The main farm business is a herd of more than 100 milking registered Holsteins and over 1,000 acres of crops; including hay, corn and small grains. While brothers, Jason and Luke, own and operate the farm on a daily basis, their parents, Allan and Pat,... are still involved with a variety of seasonal tasks. Jason's sons, Maxwell and Owen, and Luke's children, Adam, Lucy & Noah, also assist with daily chores. Over the past several years, they have added beef cattle to the farm and are excited to offer a full line of beef cuts to customers at the farmers market. New this season, Roedale is also offering fresh picked sweet corn. When Jason returned to the family farm in 2012, he and his wife, Holly, brought their turkey business, HOLLYWOOD ENTERPRISES, back to the Richfield Springs area with them. This is Holly's 21st year raising turkeys. The business started as a 4-H project, selling whole fresh birds for Thanksgiving, and has grown and diversified in recent years. In addition to the nearly 250 turkeys they raise for Thanksgiving, they are pleased to offer a full line of turkey meat cuts year-round as well; including ground turkey, breast cuts, thighs, drumsticks, wings, soup bones and organ meat. Jason and Holly's sons also raise market animals for 4-H and periodically have lamb and pork cuts available at the market. Maxwell currently has lamb roasts and ground lamb for sale. Stop by the market to browse what's in the coolers this week or contact Holly and she will be sure that has your preferred cuts set aside for you.
