Last week, our beloved Assistant Dean Debbie Kingsbury retired after 32 remarkable years at RIT! We’re going to dearly miss her unparalleled loyalty to students and their well-being, as well as all faculty, staff and alumni. Debbie’s career started in the Bursar’s Office before moving on to Saunders College of Business, Development and in 2004, the College of Art and Design to lead our Student Services and Academic Advising team. We wish Debbie the best in retirement!

Associate Professor Glen Hintz, director of our Schools of Art and American Crafts, created this illustration for RIT City Art Space's Visible Voices exhibition. Glen’s piece, Vote to Make This Community, Our Community, and the rest of the show is on view through Sunday, Oct. 25. . From the artist: Given the civil unrest and health threat engulfing our country, I thought it was appropriate to suggest that our country is in distress, hence the upside down flag. I wanted to offer more than this observation I wanted to offer a possible solution. Voting is the only means I know to peacefully and decisively make the will of the people the rule of their community. The poster illustrates people casting their ballots during this time of distress in a tangible effort to make this community, our community and this country, our country.
