Seahorses propel themselves using the dorsal fin on their back and steer using the pectoral fins on either side of their head. Their fins can beat up to 35 times per second, creating an almost hypnotic effect. However, these fins aren’t particularly effectiveseahorses are the slowest fish, not only in the Hudson River, but in the whole ocean.
