This is great news about our fundraising efforts on Facebook. Thanks everyone for your support! RSA's annual campaign continues and it's not to late to contribute on our website at www.rochesterspinalassociation.org.
RSA is currently conducting a fundraising campaign. Our Executive Director, Chris Hilderbrant is turning 40-something this Saturday and is devoting his birthday fundraising to RSA's mission of improving the quality of life for people living with spinal cord injuries/disabilities. Please consider supporting Chris and RSA in this campaign. All donations are matched dollar-for-dollar by our board of directors!
Belated Happy Thanksgiving to you all! We're thankful for the opportunity to improve the quality of life of people living with spinal cord injuries/disabilities in the greater Rochester area. We're also thankful for the people that make that possible! RSA is currently conducting its first ever end of year campaign. If you can give, or can encourage others to give, please visit our website at www.RochesterSpinalAssociation.org and click on the orange "Donate" button. Thank you!
We had a good conversation about employment during our Zoom last week. This conversation may be of interest to you, as well. It's hosted by our friends in Northern California and open to anyone, but you need to pre-register.
Looks like some exciting stuff to check out from the comfort of your couch!
RSA joins the community in mourning the loss of Travis Roy. Travis and his family were strong supporters of RSA in the past, having held multiple fundraisers in support our programs and the people we support. He leaves a powerful legacy of advocacy and accomplishments on behalf of people with spinal cord injuries. Thank you, Travis. Rest in Peace.
September is SCI awareness month and while we're on the topic of leading great lives with spinal cord injury, check out Rochester's very own Luticha Andre Doucette! This picture appeared in this month's New Mobility magazine. You can check out the rest of the featured photos here: https://www.newmobility.com//new-mobility-photo-contest-f/
Our friend, Nicole Nabors, is doing great work and helping others! Check this out! Also, it’s still spinal cord injury awareness month. Perfect timing.
September is Spinal Cord Injury awareness month. We want you to be aware that if you have a spinal cord injury and live in the greater Rochester area, we're here to help you live a great life!
Hi everyone - For those of you who have RSVP'd for our picnic tomorrow, the weather is looking wet, but we're still on. We have the pavilion to take shelter in while it rains and hopefully mother nature will be kind and give us some sun later in the day. Looking forward to seeing you all in real life!
Please join our Zoom meet up, Tuesday, August 25th, 4-6pm. We'll feature a guest speaker on navigating NY's benefit systems to get the most support you can for your goals.
A note from our board chair regarding our annual golf tournament fundraiser: ----- Dear Friends, Family and Business Associates, It is with great disappointment that I write. Due to the current situation with the pandemic and after a great deal of reflection, the Rochester Spinal Association has decided to cancel this year’s Red Solo Cup Golf Outing. After all of the challenges individuals and businesses are facing and working through, we do not believe it would be appropriat...e to ask you to make further sacrifices in support of RSA. We want to assure you that as an organization we are healthy and working as hard as we ever have to fulfill our mission of improving the quality of life for those living with spinal cord disabilities in the Greater Rochester area! This is only able to be accomplished due to your past generosity. We continue to hold bi-weekly online socials, give out grants to those in need, and provide peer support for the newly disabled and those who have been isolated due to their situation and the current pandemic. The golf tournament is our largest source of funding and its loss will certainly have an impact. Therefore, if you have the ability to make a difference in someone’s life, your donation would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made at www.RochesterSpinalAssociation.org or by sending a checking to the Rochester Spinal Association at 601 Elmwood Ave, Box 664, Rochester, NY 14642. We look forward to your future involvement with RSA and seeing you at the 2021 edition of the Red Solo Cup Golf Outing! Until then, may God bless you. Sincerely, John Casey Board Chairman Rochester Spinal Association
Our friends at Rochester Accessible Adventures are reminding you to get out and enjoy summer! You can enjoy biking or kayaking along the Erie Canal, not to mention wheeling and walking. RAA has Pass to Play discounts and RSA still has some funds left for health and wellness activities, so don't let cost be a barrier. Get out there and go! https://www.youtube.com/watch
Joni us tomorrow for our bi-weekly online get together!
