We have purchased other items from Rochester Colonial in the past, so we decided to use Rochester Colonial to get replacement storm windows for our house. We like the idea that this is a family owned company. Everyone we worked with was easy to talk to and gave good information: sales, installation, and customer service. Communication was easy and people responded promptly. We were informed by postcard when our windows were ready. That was followed up by a phone call to set ...up an installation date. Installers arrived on time, worked hard, and were respectful of us and our property. Since we have an older home (1926) there were a few things that needed tweaking after installation. My concerns were dealt with promptly and the workers who came back were also hard workers who gave me good explanations. When given the opportunity to give back, especially for a community hero found in our very own Rochester Fire Department, it was without hesitation. Lt. Steve Kelley, a 26yr Veteran of the RFD, was challenged with complications after surgery that left him in need of accessible housing. Over 40 volunteers showed up to donate their time and material. The end result will be an accessible home Lt. Kelley will be able to live in comfortably with his family. Thank you Lt. Experts’ Advice: Keeping your awning clean and dirt free! If your awning is made of 100% acrylic (all Rochester Colonial supplied awnings are 100% acrylic), one of the best ways to keep your awning looking good is to hose the fabric off on a monthly basis with clear water. This helps prevent dirt from becoming imbedded in the fabric and eliminates the need for more frequent vigorous cleaning. To clean the fabric while still on an awning frame: 1. Brush off loose dirt... 2. Hose down awning 3. Prepare a cleaning solution of water and mild soap (Woolite or Dawn dishwashing liquid) 4. Use a soft bristle brush to clean 5. Allow cleaning solution to soak into the fabric 6. Rinse thoroughly until all soap residue is removed 7. Air dry If stubborn stain persists, you can use a bleach/soap mixture (1 cup bleach and cup mild soap per gallon of clean water).
