Boyfriend Indicted for Alleged Murder of Local Woman A local woman’s last moments may have been more tragic than originally thought. A local man, Shmuel Levine, has been indicted on murder charges for allegedly beating his girlfriend to death on Monday, October 26. Danielle Marrano of Rockaway Park was 37. According to DCPI, at around 2:40 p.m. on Monday, October 26, police from the 100th Precinct responded to a call at 117-12 Ocean Promenade, known as the Hampton House. Pol...ice encountered Marrano, who was laying on the pavement, unconscious and unresponsive. EMS transported Marrano to Jamaica Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Marrano, whose body was found below her 6th floor window, was originally thought to have jumped in a possible suicide attempt. However, a medical examiner determined that she had four fractures to her skull, at least two of which were not consistent with injuries by a fall from an elevated height. The medical examiner determined that her death was a homicide. Click link to read more: http://rockawaytimes.com//7130-boyfriend-indicted-for-alle

Running the Marathon for Rockaway The New York City Marathon may have been canceled this year, but that couldn’t stop the running spirit in Brendan Lally. While he may have missed Manhattan, Staten Island and the Bronx, the Belle Harbor resident took to the local streets on what would have been marathon day, to clock in the 26.2 miles, while raising some money for local charities along the way. When Lally learned this year’s NYC Marathon had been canceled due to coronavirus c...oncerns, disappointed was an understatement. After all, it would have been his fourth marathon and the 2020 race was set to be a milestone event in its 50th year. Not to mention, Lally had already spent a lot of time training. The New York City marathon wasn’t canceled until other races around the world started being shut down. We were holding out hope and eventually they shut it down. They had to. But I had stayed training all the way through, just for my sanity, Lally said. Click link to read more: http://rockawaytimes.com//7126-running-the-marathon-for-ro See more
