I want to thank everyone we know for an absolutely incredible year! Some pictures of our oven-building work yesterday. With Covid happening, a week-long visit from our oven company to help set up our "new" refurbished oven is not something we can count on to happen anytime soon. So, true to form, we started the building process ourselves yesterday ... and we got through the most important part in just 10 hours ... building the core. I just have to publicly thank my Head Baker, Jack, my cousin, Luc, and my friends, Jeremy and Steve, for all their help and guidance and hard work yesterday. It was a great experience. We are so much closer to having two functioning ovens again and it simply could not have happened without you guys. I love and value each of you! Thank you! <3

Many of the loyal patrons at our old cafe were more like fixtures or artists-in-residence ... I know so many great and interesting people from that little place! Rod Bentley is definitely one of them and this was one of his first color renderings. He was so kind as to give me a framed copy of this one that I keep on the wall in my home office. I think it quite apropos to post given our recent blessing from above. <3 :-)

I've been browsing the web recently, seeking out some of our older press for our website ... and I came across this review by Byron Nilsson of Metroland Magazine. Our paper copy of this article has gone missing and, in addition to Byron's well-crafted and generous words, there were some wonderful pictures of our food. Metroland is (sadly) no more and I thought the beautiful words were gone forever. Lucky for me, Byron posted some of his great reviews up on his blogspot and ...ours was one of them. We are beat and worn but we still have smiles on our faces. What a beautiful/horrible snowstorm this has been. RETAIL/CAFE CUSTOMERS ... we will be closed tomorrow (Friday). We will open for regular hours on Saturday (11am to 6:30pm). Christmas bread orders can still be called in to (518) 636-3832. We will get back to you on Saturday or Monday to confirm.... WHOLESALE ACCOUNTS ... you will be getting your Thursday deliveries on Friday. Friday's orders will be delivered on Saturday. You can call our office to adjust next week's orders accordingly. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Tomorrow, we will not be baking at all. We still have too much snow and are unable to free two of our vans at the moment.
