Last Friday, our participants and families celebrated the end of our spring 2021 semester with a smaller-scale version of our annual Spring Launch Fest. Lots of thanks to our band Sky Manor, and to all of our participants, families, and alumni for a great event and an amazing semester. See you in the summer!

Free Community Rowing is back at Hunts Point Riverside Park this weekend along with Free Community Sailing on both Saturday AND Sunday! Rowing runs from 1-6pm, Sailing 1-5pm. No reservations required. More info at rockingtheboat.org/free

Rocking the Boat is now accepting applications from rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders for our summer Sailing and Nature Academy. Learn how to sail and explore nature on the Bronx River! During this two-week program, participants will learn the basics of sailing and discover the wonders of the river in our back yard. No sailing experience is necessary, just an openness to learn! Since Friday, our longtime friend and booster Matthew Aiello (IG: @monkeydunk) has been biking solo down the east coast of Florida from Jacksonville to Miami to support Rocking the Boat! We're super impressed by his efforts, and thrilled to report that he's raised over $3,700 so far!! A great big thank you for the durable bond Rocking the Boat donors, Board, students, alumni and staff shared this year. Mel, an Environmental Program student summed it up during Rocking the Boat's virtual Hibernation Celebration earlier this month: "I don’t know why but for some reason we got closer as a group. We were apart, but we came closer together. And got to know each other more. It was a weird but good experience. I liked it." There’s still time to donate to Rocking the Boat in 2020.
