Performance is the ultimate expression of music! Welcome to the our Fall Virtual Rectial! This Fall we created a dynamic class schedule for our, over 130, students and their families. This allowed the students to take independent or small group lessons, technique classes, drumming, dance, and other electives - meaning there were between 3 - 5 contacts for each student since September. In addition to this recital, our students have performed with the fivebyfive Modern Chamber ...Ensemble and recorded with the Gateways Music Festival - premiereing three pieces in the span of two weeks! Our students did all of this despite the health and virtual education situation in Rochester; their perserverance is inspiring! Thank you to the ROCmusic Collaborative member organizations (The City of Rochester, Lovely Warren - Mayor, Eastman School of Music, The Hochstein School, Eastman Community Music School, Gateways Music Festival, Rochester Philharmonic, and the Rochester City School District) for their unwavering support. Also, we thank the Ginny Morris Memorial Fund for their financal support and encouragement - making this year possible. The mission of the ROCmusic Collaborative is to leverage the collective resources of Rochester’s major cultural organizations, educational institutions, and governmental agencies to provide exceptional music education and performance experiences for youth living in the City of Rochester through year-long, community-based programming and resident-informed activities. City of Rochester News Release City Facilities to Close or Adjust Hours for Christmas Holidays... Meal Distribution Sites to Close, Children Encouraged to Pick up Extra Meals Today and Wednesday (Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020) City facilities and services will be closed or working under adjusted schedules on Thursday and Friday in observance of the Christmas holidays. Rochester City Hall, Neighborhood Service Centers, administrative offices and library branches will be closed Thursday and Friday. The R-Centers that host pandemic-related meal distribution sites will also be closed Thursday and Friday. Children are encouraged to pick up extra meals today and Wednesday. Refuse and recycling collection will maintain its normal schedule through Thursday. Friday’s collections will be delayed to Saturday. The 311 Call Center and Rochester Animal Services will be open Thursday and closed Friday. City branch libraries, which are currently limited to curbside services, will return to their adjusted pandemic schedules Monday. In keeping with their original schedule, the City’s Asymptomatic Covid-19 Testing sites will be closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Testing will resume Monday. The City of Rochester Public Market will maintain its normal Market Day schedule Thursday.
