Wonderful work by Carol Samuelson (weeding and planting), Jan Odrzywolski (selecting plants and planting), and Linda Smith (selecting plants and planting) in working to make our grounds around the boathouse better.
Look who was our coxswain last evening! Our 6’2(3?) rower Paul B. Thanks for volunteering last evening Paul! It was a very steamy evening with calm winds and hot, humid conditions.
Frankie overtaking several people.
Found a couple of extra pictures of our high school rowers in the Holiday Valley mud run 2021: Frankie and Mary Rose. Frankie had claimed that he was way out in front of Mary Rose and Liz.
Look who was doing the Holiday Valley mudslide Trail Run, 2021! Mary Rose and Liz, two of our high school rowers, are in this picture.
And Stella did indeed get her breakfast!
Hey CLRA friends! Here is a small fundraiser to help us out this year.
There was a short article in this morning’s Post Journal paper about the history of rowing on Chautauqua Lake. Very nice.
A shout out to one of our former HS rowers and wonderful young man, Andrew (Drew) Laurin. He was just awarded the Stanley A. Weeks Braw Caddie Clan Award for Excellence (2020)! The award recognizes a JHS Senior who exhibits high academic achievement, strong athletic participation, and who is a well rounded, dedicated student. Congratulations Drew! Attached is a link to the article that appeared in this weeks Jamestown Gazette. https://jamestowngazette.com/fifteenth-year-celebration-an/
A little singles rowing this afternoon. Last day to row this season is this Saturday, October 31.
Got Linda, Shirley, and Jan in a little video rowing together. Temperature correction: it was about 72 degrees not 65 at the time of video.
Was able to catch up with Shirley Johnson, Jan Odrzywolski, and Linda Smith who were just coming back from the lake on a beautiful morning.
