Hoping to get a picture of Comet NEOWISE? Here's some simple steps to help! 1) Use a tracking app like Stellarium to find where the comet is. 2) Check your local weather to ensure a clear night sky.... 3) Find an interesting location that will enhance your final image and make it more personal. 4) Use a telephoto lens (200mm or more). 5) Use a tripod and try to minimize outside light pollution. 6) Focus on "infinity" or focus on a star and lock in place. 7) Set exposure. Use your lenses fastest aperture (smallest number), and an ISO setting between 800-3200 (depending on the available light). Shutter speed will fall where it needs, but will probably be several seconds long. 8) If you shoot in JPEG format you are done! If shooting RAW, use your favorite software to process your image.
