Tonight's Royal Palms Brooklyn Shuffleboard match is another David vs Goliath... The Palm Kweens are a Cinderella story in the making; after only 2 seasons in the league, they found themselves in the playoffs for the very first time and managed to slay some incredibly tough teams to make it to this knockout round. Meanwhile, the Brooklyn incarnation of Truffle Shuffle (no relation to @truffle_shuffle_chicago) has been playing at Royal Palms for the better part of a decade a...nd have a long history of shuffley success. They know the speed, they know the drift and they know the pressure of court 3. Will Chunk and the Trufflers reveal their bellies and shake them all around in victory or will the kweens gambit overwhelm these goonies and give them no choice but to netflix and chill? Tonight’s #Shufflinsanity match is a fun one. The Salty Pirates might look like a new name but they’ve been pushing pucks since the jump in Bucktown under the names The Puck Stops Here and The Phoney Balonies. But it’s under the Skull and Bones moniker that they’ve done the bulk of their plundering going from a winless team in Summer 2019...to a 4-4 record in the Fall 2019 season...to a team playing on the biggest stage of all Shufflinsanity. Astronaut Juice is a seasoned ...group of players upon which many smart bettors have thrown down their hard earned duckets. A perennial playoff participant, the cosmonauts deepest run resulted in a quarterfinal appearance in Winter 2019. Their veiled reference to a shuffleboard stick is appreciated by those overwhelmed by commonplace team name punnery. (Although punnery is ALWAYS encouraged at The Royal Palms.) Tonight’s match is a doozy! The Golden Tangs and Philly Specials hold a whopping 5 championships between them and feature some of the best shufflers ever to slide a biscuit on a tropicana cabana blue court. Their styles couldn't be more different...... The Golden Tangs are mild mannered scholars obsessed with strategy and the scriptures of Floyd Swem, Charles Haslem and Karl Von Shuller. They play a thoughtful and conservative style that centers around choosing the right shot and playing towards the percentages. The Philly Specials are brash shot-making bad-boys who indulge in some trash talking and seem to channel their hometown hero Allen Iverson on the court (and also when asked about practice) Tune in at 8pm est / 7pm cst for all the action (link in bio)

We’re back in Chicago for tonight’s #Shufflinsanity match! In the spring of 2019, It's Time For Your Kiss took home the championship with an electric finals win over Tu Tang Clan and currently stands as Chicago's #4 ranked team. The Double Dippers are technically a first season team but don't be fooled, they've got a bunch of players from other teams that couldn't resist forming a extra 'franken-team' to get a second helping of Shuffleboard on Tuesdays. ... Tonight’s #Shufflinsanity #Brooklyn Edition is a classic David vs Goliath matchup... The Cupid Shufflers are relative newcomers but what they lack in experience they easily make up for... in style and grace. They might not have won a ton of playoff matches but they’ve won best dressed and team spirit awards and their positivity is downright infectious. The SPF 45s are a 26-season team with an elusive championship under their belt and feature some of the best strategians and shot makers ever to swig a Shuffleboard Bob. Four season Shufflebroads may be the luckiest team in the competition; This is the second time that Anna & Max-playing for Simone, Izzy, John Andrew & Angelinahave made it to the playoffs as the *wildcard* pick. They went farther than they expected last timeto a speed shuffle to advance from the group stage and the following season, despite their 1-7 record, came in 2nd in the Consolation Tournament. This time around they’re feeling good. We control our own destiny which is all we wanted coming into this; we couldn’t be in a better position. When asked why someone should pick them to go all the way, they point out that the chalk may be on the more experienced teams, but you’re gonna get much better odds with the underdogs. ::ELIMINATED::

This is the very first season for See You In Court and their very first playoff attempt! Suzanne and Danielplaying for Willman and Jessieare surprised and delighted to find themselves in contention. They attribute their meteoric rise to intimidating their opponents with terrible puns and having a ringer in Willman, who grew up playing shuffleboard on Lake George. Still, they say that anyone picking them to go all the way in their #Shufflinsanity bracket is probably drunk and should seek professional help. ::ELIMINATED::

26 Season Team Golden Tangs (and same night spin off team, Golden Tangs: Kitchen Of Doom)Jeff & JP, playing for Missy, Will, John Z, Henry, Matt, Greg, Nick, James & Petehave made the playoffs all but two times: July 2014 when they were just learning how to play and again in 2019 when Jeff accidentally scheduled his bachelor party in New Orleans on a must-win night. In other 24 attempts, they had 3 Third Place wins, 4 Second place victories and took the whole thing twice. M...issy and Matt came in second in one RP Doubles Tournament and Missy and Jeff logged a first place Doubles victory in another. They have both a Best Dressed and Most Nicest Team Spirit in their war chest and have competed in several @StPeteShuffle CanAm pilgrimages. Perhaps most notably, Team Captain Jeff has won the Tangsgiving Tournament TWICE and is the current reigning champ. ::MOVING ONTO THE KNOCKOUT BRACKET::

In 25 seasons, Les Peches (aka The Peaches aka Butter My Peaches aka Peaches Pizza Party aka The Team Formerly Known As Peaches aka several other variations with the word ‘Peach’ in it) have only made the playoffs three times but in addition to winning more spirit awards than any other team in @RoyalPalms history, Randy and Mikealong with Kate, Hiram, Libby, Neal and Stephaniehave never lost a single RP Dance Off. The Cupid Shufflers, Paul and Issacalong with Michelle, Sudie, Grant and Paigejoined the league in 2019 and have found their way to the playoffs three times (Twice on merit, once by lottery). They’ve never made it past the group stage, but in their short tenure, have already won Most Improved and Team Spirit. Awards. They upped their uniform game this season in the hopes of winning Best Dressed next, but would gladly trade it for the championship title because We believe in ourselves. Paul and Nelson, along with Dan & Caroline, make up Canal Bar (aka Tangy BBQ Sauce) have found themselves in the Final Four thrice and have been in the league since the jump The 2018 League Champs. Paul and Former Captain Johnny took the 2018 Doubles Tourney with Caroline and Nelson winning the following Doubles Tournament in 2019. Paul also came in 7th in Tangsgiving and 10th in the Brooklyn Invitational. They attribute their success to the fact that they understand the game-we know how to play defense and when to play offense. ::MOVING ONTO THE KNOCKOUT BRACKET::

The Pamela Anderson Coopers roll with a deep squad: Rob & Chris along with Megan,Tim, Lindsay, Brett, Brigham and Lui are in their fourth season and second playoff battle. A few of them competed in the Tangsgiving Singles Tournament, but when asked how they did, they replied not well enough to remember. They’re the self proclaimed Wing and A Prayer Team but might just surprise you. ::ELIMINATED::

An Original Season League Team, Five Finger Shuffle have had 5 playoff attempts and made it to the very last shot of the finals to come in second. Hyperlocal Kenny and Tim along with Kendra, Stacia and Kingpin Larry can be found practicing at the club on Sundays and undeniably know what they’re doing on the court. #Shufflinsanty ::ELIMINATED::

Despite their team name, David & Adam, who have been playing for 5 years with Ian & Chris, have yet to make it out of the Sweet Sixteen to win Big Money Big Prizes I Love It, but a few years ago, they *did* have a 21-game winning streak over three seasons which, at the very least, SOUNDS impressive!
