Last evening, our crew and Rockland Paramedic Services responded to a motor vehicle accident in Spring Valley. Upon assessment, the patient, who is a food deli...very driver, expressed concerns with not being able to complete his delivery. To put our patient at ease, the Rockland Paramedics took it upon themselves to complete the delivery to ensure that the patient could recover without the added stress. Today begins the 46th annual National EMS Week. This year EMS and Healthcare was challenged like never before. Our paramedics and EMTs stepped up to the challenge as always and came out stronger than ever. We will remain vigilant and strong as we prepare for tomorrow and beyond. Yesterday afternoon, the Rockland County Behavioral Health Response Team responded to a location in the Town for a young male acting irrational. The Licensed C...linical Social Worker employed by Rockland Paramedic Services was attacked by the subject who tackled her into a dresser and punched her multiple times in the face. The Ramapo officer was also punched in the face by the subject. Once the situation was brought under control, the subject was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The officer and social worker were treated at medical facilities for their injuries. Both the officer and social worker remain out of work due to their injuries. The subject will be issued an appearance ticket for assault and the case will be referred to the Family Court due to his age. See more
