With significant snow forecasted it is extremely important to ensure that high efficiency furnace and hot water heater exhaust vents are not blocked by fallen and drifting snow. Blocked vents can cause a carbon monoxide emergency which may result in death. Continue to check these vents as snow falling from the roof and drifting can quickly block a vent that has been previously cleared.

As we get closer to winter now is the time to have your fireplaces checked for damage, flue pipes cleaned and ensure that all combustible materials are at least 5 feet from the opening of the fireplace. Using certified reputable people who are insured and can provide recommendations from clients is crucial. Be smart, Be safe and get this done in advance of the winter season.
