As we near Christmas, we have decided that with the social distancing and all the regulation we will not be able to have Santa at the hall. We have decided though to do like we did for Easter and have Santa go around so the children can see him. We would like to be able to give the little ones something. If you are interested in having your child included please leave me a message and I will get back to you on times and locations. You must live in our fire district .

A big thank you to Cassie Hatch for organizing the trunk or treat tonight at the hall. Thank you to everyone that came and set up to hand out candy. Our sincere condolences go to the Short Tract fire department on the passing of their life member Clair Luckey. Also to Jeff , Sarah and Dylan on their loss. You all are in our thoughts and prayers

It is with deepest regrets that our demo has been canceled for this year. We did all that we could to bring you the show. The committee did everything possible to make this happen but like everything else this year COVID-19 put a stop to it. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR.

THE RUSHFORD DEMOLITION DERBY HAS BEEN CANCELLED HOWEVER ANOTHER SHOW IS BEING . PLANNED/SCHEDULED IN IT’S PLACE SEPTEMBER 5TH - SMETHPORT, PA... ****I’ll share more information as it becomes available***** This show being planned has NOTHING to do with the Rushford fire department It is with deep regrets to have to post this, especially being so early. I wanna start by saying the demo committee worked hard to come up with plans to answer every possible scenario of the state guidelines. Some of which was remove fencing to open up spectators area and bring bleachers in, limit spectators, and so many other precautionary measures we’d planned. As one committee member worked within the county and kept up on all news bulletins. We also had a member of the fire department who works for the state, who also kept us updated. As we had hoped things may open up some by September and we could adjust our show accordingly to the guidelines. But when we went to the town board meeting we was denied permission to continue our planning of the demolition derby, as they tabled any talks of such a permission. As we began our talks (end of june) with the town supervisor, it appeared he may work with us, as he stating he’d attempt to come to our demo meeting to address any concerns he had so we could come up with answers for the upcoming town board meeting. But after not showing up to our meetings, nor giving us a chance to speak at the town board meeting in front of the board it’s become transparent he is very much against the show happening in any way. In fact they couldn’t give us any reassurance they’d vote in our favor come next month even if things opened up. So we have no choice but to cancel. I would like to thank the committee for their dedication they’ve given this year in attempt to comply with whatever regulations we may have faced in a month or two’s time. I would like to also thank councilman Charlie Bliss, as he was the only board member who fought to give us any commitment from the town.
