Read more about Jeffrey here: If you always place your bets on the tortoise over the hare, your trust will be well-placed in Jeffrey Hodiak. Jeffrey holds fast to the slow-but-steady wins the race philosophy when it comes to skating at the Riverside Rink on Tuesday evenings. Each week, for the past seven years, Jeffrey takes the ice with a calm demeanor that makes you feel like we should all stop to smell... the roses a little longer. His smile and charm are so entwined with his laid-back personality, that you just can’t help but feel the stress melt away when you are in his presence. While Jeffrey moves at a steady pace, he also continues to work diligently on the ice. Since 2013, Jeffrey’s skating skills have improved to the point where he now pushes away the walker during each session. Jeffrey is committed to skating independently and has made tremendous progress to reach that goal. Jeffrey was also one of the skaters in the Men of High Park routine during the 2016 Celebration on Ice. The performance featured Jeffrey and his housemates in a routine that showcased their love for all sports. As men that share a house together, the routine also highlighted their independence, as well as their friendship, during the energetic and scintillating performance. SABAH has also been thankful for Jeffrey’s volunteer service during the School Day Adaptive Ice Skating program. Jeffrey has been an inspirational volunteer for children in Rifton Walkers during the daytime program. SABAH’s Director of Programming, Carrie Drabik states, Jeffrey is a great volunteer.always encouraging and very happy. Since the School Day Adaptive Ice Skating program is offered during business hours of the work week, SABAH is especially grateful for the support of volunteers like Jeffrey. For his years of dedication and commitment to SABAH, both as an athlete and volunteer, we are pleased to name Jeffrey Hodiak as the 2020 November Athlete of the Month! Congratulations, Jeffrey!

It's been quite a year! But thanks to the First Niagara Foundation, the John R. Oishei Foundation, and Project Play of Western New York, SABAH was able to redistribute funding to create the Walk with SABAH! We also thank our many wonderful volunteers who took the time to make the "Walk" an incredible experience for our athletes!!
