Update on Saratoga Lake boating accident

Young man dies after being struck by boat on Saratoga Lake.

The Sheriff's Office joined the Stillwater Police Department, the Prevention Council of Saratoga County and DeCrescente Distributing this morning for an Operation Dry Water press event at Browns Beach on Saratoga Lake. Operation Dry Water is a national campaign to encourage safe and sober boating.

The Sheriff's Navigation Patrol located the pictured rowboat on Saratoga Lake on June 26, 2021. It was found drifting and is believed to have originated from the south end of the lake. It is currently in our possession. Anyone with information on possible ownership (or the owner) can contact Deputy Matt Ball at [email protected] for further assistance.

Today Sheriff Zurlo and members of the Sheriff's Office took delivery of a new custom built Mobile Evidence Trailer. The trailer was designed, manufactured and donated to our agency by Maximum Security Products Corp., in Waterford. The trailer will be used to collect and preserve perishable evidence at crime scenes. Thank you to Joseph Burch and the staff at Maximum Security Products !
