Black Belt class tonight at Saratoga Karate was taught by Shihan Hussey and it was a major classic! We covered so much material in an hour -- constant movement, katas, bow dosa and bow kumite, sais, hand technique line drills, you name it. I'm spent, riding on the Tenkara endorphin rush, and loving it! Looking forward to seeing even more of the black belt ranks next week. Osuuaaahh!!!! ~Sempai Ray

All ranks class with Shihan Hussey this evening was unbelievable. We had 7th, 3rd and 1st degree black belts, brown (ikyu!), green and yellow belt ranks present... and we covered kumite, intermediate self defenses, numerous katas, sai and hand technique line drills, and of course, spent quality time in finger tip and knuckle plank position, push-ups, and worked the core. Amazing how much we accomplished in 60 minutes, leaving time for questions, and a couple great karate history stories shared by Shihan after class. Class started with ikyu Racheal sparring with the Shihan....he barely moved his hands, somehow didn't seem to need to!! Great prelude for a shodan test looming somewhere in the future... There was even talk after class of training up for brick breaking with bare knuckles. I'm in!!! Message to all students - you do not want to miss this..... Osu!!!!!! See more
