2020 has been an incredibly difficult year for all, and we are feeling the effects here at Schenectady Day Nursery. After 4 long months of being closed due to Covid-19, we were thrilled to be able to reopen our doors on July 20th. Just 3 months later, in early October, staff arrived to find a flooded building caused by a broken water supply hose on our 3rd floor. All 3 floors were effected causing over $200,000 worth of damage. We anticipate being closed till at least January... of 2021 for repairs. If you find yourself having the ability to support us in these final days of 2020, we would be forever grateful. The nursery has supported the community for over 120 years and currently our sustainability is at risk. A link to donate is included in the comments. Dear Families, In my previous correspondence with you, I mentioned that a reopening date would hopefully be set soon. At this weeks Board meeting held on Wednesday, June 24th, it was decided that the nursery will reopen on July 20th. I'm sure this is welcome news for some and an inconvenience to others. Given the health, safety and financial considerations the Nursery is faced with, July 20th was the earliest possible date to open. There are new guidelines that must be im...plemented and adhered to by staff, families and children. These guidelines are now being reviewed by the Nursery's legal counsel and Board of Managers. Upon approval you will be forwarded an information packet outlining these polices and procedures. You will be asked to review each carefully and sign before your child/children can return to the Nursery. Thank you for your patience throughout this closure and we look forward to seeing you soon!
