The cards may be vintage, but the greetings are timeless: Happy New Year from all of us at the Schuyler County Historical Society!
Selecting the perfect Christmas card is hard! And it's even harder when we have so many different cards in our collections. Here are a few. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
The Brick Tavern Museum and Wickham Rural Life Center will be open this week on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will close for the holidays starting Thursday, Dec. 24, and re-open on Tuesday, Jan. 5. We thank the volunteers who decorated the Brick Tavern Museum so beautifully this year!
Kylie Rodrigues of the Town of Hector is the lucky winner of our raffle of a blanket chest hand-crafted by board member David Lisk. Congratulations, Kylie! And also a big thank-you to everyone who purchased tickets - whether hoping to win this beautiful piece or to simply support the work of the Historical Society. We are grateful!
A 2021 Schuyler County Historical Society membership is a great gift for someone interested in our county's rich history. Go to our website at www.schuylerhistory.org for the form; stop by the Brick Tavern Museum; call us at 607-535-9741; or email [email protected]. Membership benefits include receiving the quarterly Journal, with essays about people, places and events in Schuyler's history, and the quarterly newsletter about Historical Society news, The Vista.

Gary Emerson, Schuyler County Historian and a member of the Historical Society board, shares a fun story in his latest blog post. The story comes from "A History of Tyrone," a compilation of pieces about the history of the Town of Tyrone. The 2020 revised edition of the book is now for sale at the Brick Tavern Museum Gift Shop or on our website at www.schuylerhistory.org.
