Friendship Café Grab & Go Lunch Hot, nutritious boxed-lunch meals to adults 60 years and older through a Grab & Go Curbside Lunch. This is an alternative to congregate dining so that we can ensure everyone’s safety. Lunch is being offered at the Glenville Senior Center 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, from 11:30am to 12:15pm. Space is limited and reservations are required.... The Grab & Go Lunch Program is available to Schenectady County residents 60 years and older and who are not currently receiving home delivered meals from the Meals on Wheels Program. The voluntary suggested contribution for each meal is $3.50. Residents must register by calling the Catholic Charities Friendship Café at 518-393-1946 prior to picking up a meal. Reservations must be made a week in advance and participants MUST call by 12:00 noon the Friday before. Registration is required. In some instances, a family member may pick up the meals, however prior authorization from the Program is required. For more information, please call the Congregate Program Manager at 518-573-1468.

Glenville Senior Center (518) 374-0734 The Best of the Best Senior Center 2020 awarded by the Daily Gazette... AARP Tax aide volunteers are unable to provide in-person tax assistance while the Covid-19 numbers are so high. Possibly the service can resume if the community spread rate drops. They are working on a possible all virtual model, which is uncertain at this time. If you have other tax preparation options, it is advisable to utilize them this year. IRS offers free-file for most people with an income below $72K. All you need is a computer, a printer & an email address (and perhaps a younger relative who can help you through it). One of our AARP Tax aide volunteers can talk you through getting started with this if you are interested.. Do not reply to this email. Contact [email protected]

Hoping you are all doing well. Because we are closed, our membership sign up is a bit behind. There are membership applications in the newsletter. You can fill it out, enclose it with your check, & mail it to the Senior Center. We don’t want to lose any members & this will ensure you keep getting the newsletter & know everything that is going on. Please renew & stay safe.

Due to changes in the roll out process, anyone who has contacted the Glenville Senior Center regarding the vaccine should register via the methods described in this post. We have submitted the information collected to the County, but the response has overwhelmed the process set up. Please register again using the new methods. Thank you for being patient as we navigate this process.
