So great to see traditional architectural craftsmanship recognized and elevated. My year long apprenticeship in traditional Japanese carpentry so many years ago is ingrained in our work here at Scott Henson Architect. https://www.japantimes.co.jp//japanese-architectural-cra/

A new study by the nonprofit Urban Green Council reveals, surprisingly, that midsize multifamily buildings are using more energy and producing more carbon than larger buildings which could result in major fines if co-op and condo boards don’t take steps to meet carbon targets under the Climate Mobilization Act. http://ow.ly/gkO950yBSd3
Scott Henson Architect is pleased to share that our Principal Scott Henson has been elevated to the prestigious College of Fellows in the American Institute of Architects. Noted for his significant contribution to the profession and achieving a standard of excellence in Design/Preservation, Scott is among the less than 3% of 95,000 AIA members to be elevated. A well deserved honor for our Founding Principal.

Join SHA’s Scott Henson, Eric Hammarberg and Jane Sanders today as they attend the APT Northeast Annual Symposium in the historic Biltmore Ballroom, Providence RI. The overarching theme, 20/20 Vision: New Uses for Old Buildings" is about adaptive reuse and revitalization. The practice of adaptively reusing obsolete structures extends far back to the past. As we move into the 21st century and are confronted with issues like climate change, rapidly evolving technology, and overpopulation, it becomes more critical to reuse existing buildings and to make them relevant for future generations.
Scott Henson Names Jane Sanders as Director of Sustainability Designing and living in a Passive House was a transformative experience for me, says Jane Sanders, new Senior Associate and Director of Sustainability at Scott Henson Architect (SHA).
