From UNCHAINED - Derek Singletary and Emily NaPier-Singletary speak at a Harvard Univ. event. Carve out a piece of time and let Emily and Derek educate about the NY parole system. Listen to information about the "LESS IS MORE" act. If you've read "The New Jim Crow" - this is just another piece. Powerful!!!

As someone wrote, Police officers killed Breonna Taylor, an innocent black woman, in her home. The only charges are for the bullets that missed.

Our "Engraved Brick" fundraiser has been a tremendous success! Because engraving takes time, only orders received by Friday Sep 25 can have a guaranteed spot in our original walkway, to be completed in late November. Be a part of this fabulous project, and leave a lasting message of hope and peace - while at the time supporting The Center and the activist organizations that call us "home." Go to syracusecenter.org to get your brick today!

"Don't be distracted by emotions like anger, envy, resentment. These just zap energy and waste time." - RBG Instead, get out the vote. RIP to an amazing soul who devoted her life to justice.

We are so excited to see this groundbreaking lawsuit at Batavia. Our Executive Director, Jennifer Conner, attests to the exploitative nature of AGS's employmen...t practices in the detention facility. During the COVID pandemic, people who are detained are given a small hotel sized bar of soap for a week and so must buy their own hygiene supplies from the company-owned commissary. Working for $1 a day for commissary when commissary is required to make phone calls to lawyers and family, buy stamps to mail letters and important documents, buy extra food because the portions provided in Batavia are notoriously meagre, is not a choice. This is coercion." See more
