It's citrus season... We're taking full advantage of the start of citrus season with our new cake of the month! This month we are featuring a citrus cake filled and crumb coated with our champagne buttercream. The cake is then topped with a citrus glaze and an assortment of candied citrus fruits. This cake is available in our 6" or 8" size in traditional, vegan, gluten free and vegan/gluten free options. Let's start out this new year right...with cake and champagne. Wow, it's been a year. What a year it has been. We have had ups, we have had downs, we have cried, we have laughed, we have panicked and we have celebrated and most of all...we have eaten a lot of cookies. The one constant we have had was the support of this community and for that, we can't thank you enough. We couldn't be more proud of our fellow small businesses that have worked tirelessly to keep their businesses going. We wouldn't be anywhere without the help of this co...mmunity and encouragment from other local shops. As guidelines keep changing, we will continue making adjustments to keep our staff and customers as safe as possible. We're all in this together and we're all giving it the best we have. As long as we are able, we will keep baking up your favorite sweets and being part of your celebrations, no matter the size. We don't know if there are enough words to describe all of the emotions we've been through this year. We know that we're tough (the Tough Cookie slogan had to come into play somewhere) and we will make it through this. See you in 2021 Rochester! Hafe a safe and happy new year!

That’s a wrap! Phewww! This was by far our busiest Holiday season yet and we couldn’t be more thankful!! Thankful for this amazing, talented, hard working group of people who go above and beyond every day! Thankful for our wonderful, supportive customers who allow us to do the work we love. This year has been all about growth, flexibility and finding the silver linings- there have been so many! We are so looking forward to all the things 2021 will bring! Happy Holidays! The most perfect Macarons in the case this week made by @rachel.quatro: PB & J , Apple Cider, Fudge, Grape Pie, Bourbon Caramel, and vanilla bean! We also brought back pumpkin-caramel whoopie pies for a limited time, chocolate crinkle cookies, and galaxy cake pops! Open 10-3

Trick or Treat? We choose treats. While Halloween may look and be celebrated a little differently this year, we are hoping these treats make up for it! We are delighted to offer an assortment of Halloween themed treats for pre-order. Pre-ordered goodies will be available for pickup from the shop 10/28, 10/29, 10/30 and 10/31 between the hours of 10-3pm. We will close out orders on 10/25 at 3pm. We will also have an assortment of Halloween themed sweets available in our pastry case during Halloween week! Hours: Wed-Sun 10-3pm

Tomorrow we are hosting our FIRST ever virtual cake decorating class to raise money for the American Cancer Society!! If all goes as well as we hope there will be many more virtual classes to come. We’re very excited to see all 44 students (via zoom) tomorrow night and support this amazing foundation!

Before the night ends we have to wish @jenmcclure a very happy 30th Birthday! Jan- you fill all of our lives with so much laughter, happiness, good food and the best random facts. Our days are always brighter because of you and we love you so much!!

Scratch Bakeshop is going Purple... October was first declared Domestic Violence Awareness month in 1989, it is a time to not only acknowledge domestic violence victims but to be a voice for survivors as well. We are proud to be working with Resolve of Rochester to help promote their #UnmaskDomesticViolence campaign. Nearly 20 people per minute are abused by an intimate partner in the United States. 1 in 3 women, 1 in 4 men and 1 in 2 LGBTQ+ individuals will experience intima...te partner violence in their lifetime. These are statistics that we cannot, and simply will not, allow to continue. We will be offering an assortment of purple colored treats such as rice krispie treats, cake pops, cupcakes and decorated shortbread cookies in our case the entire month of October. We also have informational cards at our front counter for people interested in learning more about what Resolve of Rochester does. Please feel free to grab a few to hand out. A portion of our sales from the month of October will be going to Resolve. We also ask that anyone donate what they can, this can be a monetary donation, volunteering or even helping a friend. Together, we can help.

October is a really important month to us as it is Domestic Violence awareness month. Did you know 1 in 3 people experience domestic violence? For the whole month we are partnering with @resolve_roc - an amazing nonprofit center in Rochester that aims to help those who have and are currently experiencing domestic violence. We are hoping to spread awareness about what RESOLVE can offer to anyone struggling. We will be donating a percentage of our monthly sales to RESOLVE and have more information available to anyone who stops into the shop and would like to know more!

Cake and print Giveaway!! We have teamed up with @thenerdyoctopus who created this AMAZING limited edition print.
